I got advice from my advisor saying I should have more spice for my population and more trade demands.
1. Is there a point of spice if you already have 10 morale on a planet?
2. How do you get more " trade demands"? What benefit do they have?

Normally, I would say no, but since the last update, if my spice is 1 or 2 below my population, my morale starts dropping. 2. politics. you need to do some of the research to get the right treaties, but then you can try to influence the factions into trade routes or alliances that can impact your various forms of income. (or stop negative politics that are occurring and hurting your economy.)

Without enough Spice, your Morale will drop toward 7.

nails thx. And I've noticed morale drops for low spice as well. fallen and would 3 morale really make that much of a difference? With high populations, maintenance cost is high just to keep my people 3 points happier, so I better be getting something worthwhile. I also read that spice halls increase EP and RP as well, which combined with morale increases and protections make it useful. Maybe that's the logic behind why spice halls are so important?

If you want a super economy, morale is everything. the bonuses and penalties for morale can make or break you and it only takes a couple of bad colonies to turn you into greece

The difference between 7 and 10 Morale is very similar to ST:RPG.
In the case of ST:4X you will pay 20% less for Maintenance at 10 Morale than you will at 7.
Morale of 7 yields a 0% penalty for Maintenance, but puts you very close to 6 which yields a 10% penalty on Normal and a 20% penalty on Insane/Impossible.

So then there's no difference between 7 and 10 then? Prehaps with a full-on 10/10 morale you can give -10% maint rate, just to give some type of incentive to increase morale. Or maybe give some other benefit (CP, RP, EP, TP, DP, 50% chance of CP/RP/EP/TP/DP)

@starfixer - maybe misunderstood?
at 6 Morale, you pay 110% maintenance rate. at 7 Morale, you pay 100% maintenance rate. at 10 Morale, you pay 80% maintenance rate.

Make a note of all -moral anomalies because they are seriously stupid, if you discover one on a map you should just write down where it is and start a new game imo.

eskimoform - much like Exploring in Star Traders RPG, the result of Exploring in 4X as big random components to it. Writing down and avoiding the anomaly will not help. The -Morale result is part of the gamble you are playing to get the +CP, +RP, or +Credits results.

Odd, because it always seems to be in the same place.
