**The Grand Unification**
This may sound slightly genocidal of me but what if upon beginning a game you immeadiately feed 2/3 of your colony ships to the xenos. This would effectively purge your empire of any political issues, and unify your.. ~remaining~ population. This could potentially pave the way a united (cadar) front against the xenos, and greater possibility for success in the long term (no need to waste research on policy tech allowing full military expansion. Thoughts?

That is hilarious. I'm trying it in my next game. I know who slayernz wants to feed the Xeno. You would have a slower start though. And lose those faction's bonuses. If it works that is.

True, but think of the money/quality saved because of the non necessity of any thing politically related.

If I was going that strategy, I'd simply colonize every starting world with the normal colony hives and using rychart and DV for cash only. I'm going to try a new strategy of using the colony hives to box in the xeno directly

Edit :starting colony ships invincible. Conflicts still arise even if involved factions don't exist.starting colony ships do not run out of fuel. It is however possible to build an empire with only one faction, even rychart. Racial purge plausible require further research...

Yeah this idea is not part of the game.
I'm going to fix the politics and add some really savage penalties if you don't colonize with all 3 hives.
Maybe auto-defeat if you don't get them set down in the first 10 turns?

So, a Settlers Rush rather than a Zerg Rush. Did it work? Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards

I'm trying this now. The initial hive ships are not to be taken lightly! Unwilling to just 'let them die', I've had them fighting the xeno. So far (6-7 turns worth of combat) they've barely taken a scratch, but have destroyed 2 gunships already, lol

Haha. I might try that as well for kicks. Attempt to blockade any colony ships from the home planet.
