I read this forum daily. Sometimes more. I am just now getting around to posting something.
I was curious if the multiple saved games vanished for everyone else or not. I have finally gotten a guy to actually survive longer than an hour, but wanted to tinker around with a new as well and see if it was a fluke, but the option to switch to a save game file is gone.
Also, will hacking remain as it is now, or will you go with virtual reality ala the Shadowrun game? If it remains as it is, might I recommend making the "data" window a touch smaller and the buttons larger, perhaps will more description? I have something of a tech background, and it's still a bit...ambiguous as to the functions.
And (because I am a chatty bugger when I get a chance to actually start talking) if the thought had not occurred to ya'll to start out the various types (classes?) in different starting locations, or at least with a larger degree of variation between gear/skills/stats. It felt weird for a sniper to have what amounted to a holdout pistol.

Welcome, Knight to our little corner of the Sprawl. Glad to have you with us.
Multiple saved games should be in place -- can you tell me more? Do you not have a "Saved Games" button anymore?
--
Hacking will remain closer to what we have now, with maps and various additional visualizations. I like your recommendation and we're going to try it out. We definitly have plans to improve the clarity, function and overall awesome of the matrix. really =)
The current "male" character is representative of the game's most generic archtype. He shows up, pistol in hand ... ready to make some nuyens. As we move the bar forward we will push the number of characters up into double digits.
Then the game will have (Characters * Classes * Difficulties) different starting situations. There will be an "Fallen Corp Soldier" who starts much better equipped, but in hot water with a corp. That would give the Sniper a great gun or the Hacker a good computer.
Hopefully this combination of story and sandbox will provide lots of replay.

Well it's in beta, so I certainly can't fault ya. I ran into a bug with Cognac, when I call him up it gives me a storyline snippet and I can't sell paydata. I click on "I have paydata on Los Val" and it kicks back an asian looking dude in a blue shirt with sunglasses who says something like "I knew your brother, but don't know you".
Multiple save games is not an option. I click continue, and it just jumps into game. No more multiple choice.

monkeyrogue - there is no "Saved Games" on the right hand column of buttons? if so, thats definitely an issue. Thanks for pointing out the problem with old Cognac Brawn - i will fix him for the next release.

I have the same problem with taxi 'Quarter Speed' and 'Jennings'
I knew your brother, but don't know you, go to the Yakuza Cambling Den in Black Bay Slums ...
For 'Cognac Brown' it's the same if you choose 'Work' or 'Pay Data'

I'd like to see a heavly augmented character almost like the T-100 Terminator. Actaully now that I think about it, are you going to set a limit upon how much you can augment (implant) your character? I know that there's the DV number, but that's more like a scale.
The above might open up options to some and close options to others. Like certain factions disliking the overly implanted (less human).

Yeah, no saved games as an option at all anymore. You hit "Continue Games" and it just starts playing

SimKin - after a quick look at the data tables, all of the contacts say something about Adam. I will start systematically fixing them now and in future releases. I have fixed Cognac in the current release (v1.0.23?)

@ fallen, nice looking forward to it.
By the way, love the game, brings back memories to Fallout 1 & 2 (not 3) who are still my favorite games by far.

If you guys ever "open source" the engine, I am remaking Wasteland. LOL. Storyteller is a great way to do that.

Your "fixing" of gognac brawn didnt work... Now when trying paydata or contract he will say something like"only big corps can sell and buy goods between domes" and "new boston is the best dome of the great boston" So the "fix" is not very helpfull.

taatuu25 - yes, I will admit, I really screwed up that fixing. Tried to link to IDs in the wrong dialogs table! I have re-scrubbed, and I think we have removed all the issues with the random Yakuza jumping on the line to complain about his Brother Adam. This will be in the next release (post 1.0.25)

And Andrew, fallen needs a character portrait. Make it so.
