Does anyone understand what it's for? In game that is, not in life. I'm still not sure what it does or what it's intended function is. Maybe I skipped over the part where it was explained.

We're trying to replace it with the more generic term XP. A long internal debate ended with "XP is easier to understand than Karma"
So there -- it works as XP. Soon you'll be able to spend it on other things (like automatic successes) instead of just raising stats.

It is all an illusion. These posts are not real. You are actually inside the Matrix right now. Press "Log Out" or the Deckers will get you.

I remember Karma was used for exp in the Shadowrun SNES game. I had no problem figuring out the Karma thing in CK. However, I have noticed on the difficulties that say you die permanently if you have no Karma, yet I've had 0 plenty of times and it never erased my character. Just sent me back to Doc Dave's place.

I used to play the P'n'P version and I swear Karma was not their xp system. But then it's been a number of yers. Will have to go back to the source books. I think that Cory added permenent deaths to the new update.

I'm just saying that Karma was the SNES game's experience system. As for the deaths, I just know the descriptions for each difficulty haven't changed really, but maybe the death thing wasn't implemented yet?

I hope so, as the number of times I'm getting gunned down by security is not funny. I'm not making a very good sniper, well not until I get up 2k for a rifle.

moody - until you have some serious gear, you should avoid corporate security forces, and BraveStar or Knight Horizon altogether. A Cyber Knight needs to get his or her feet securely on the ground in the streets of New Boston before trying to fry those bigger fish.
