now we cant redesign builded ships to upgrade them, so often i demolish those builded first (to lover maintain costs) or use them as meat shield ships earn exp but even 15exp is less valuable than new ship with better reactor allowing aditional attack in master of orion you could redesign ships allowing them to use last technology discoveries, but as st4x is a different game (in good meaning of this word ) what do you think about 'mobile' crews? we all knows that experienced crew will use their battle experience on every ship they will serve, and veteran is much better that a green one. we can demolish ship but we rather dont do it with his crew on board (do we? ) what do you think about moving them from ship to ship? i know that it will need much of programing so its a long term idea - just a thought or maybe ship experience should be much more important and give bigger effects so it will be better to escape heavy damaged experienced old ship than scrap it and replace it with new better and a green one?

Ship Experience is a huge factor. It depends on the ship design but for starting ships, and some of the well built ones people have been sending in, 15 XP is probably more valuable over the long run than a second attack.
We're working on it, I'm not sure you're seeing the benefits of XP yet, but I think in a few games you might come to really appreciate the power of 15XP.
We're also working on some other ideas for that, but "mobile crews" isn't really part of the plan.

maybe your right - i'll test it in next game I do like the concept though. What if disbanding a crew dispersed the XP across your fleet with a lost percentage. Like 50% of the XP points (Officers, etc) were sent to other ships (if the ship was > 50% Hull)

I think it might be nice if demolishing a ship will let you add some XP or set the XP of an existing ship to the XP of the removed ship. Oh, and they have to be of the same faction? I'm guessing this feature would shift the game balance a bit, but your loyal earlier crews don't deserve to be thrown into oblivion! Not necessary for it to be complete as a game, but I'd like it.
