I have been wondering what is the exact mechanics behind planetary invasion. I saw a post that it does a damage between 1-4 and sometimes quality damages; mostly it is dependent on what action is taken (Bombard, Scout and Invade). However there is no further information in the game on how the damage is determined. I also noticed that in the invasion screen, there are 4 status: Population, quality, radiation and defence.
What I have noticed is that, population is always out of 20 on whatever planet you invade. The quality varies. The radiation varies. The defence varies too but I'm not sure if it varies during the invasion period.
Questions:
1. Does damage depends on radiation and defence?
2. Can the AI increase the defence capabilities and how fast can the AI up the defence and by what amount? I can see the defence of this planet that I have been attacking for 10 turns is 13500. Is that a lot of defence? Because I've been hammering it with 4 planetary ships and it is slow lol.
3. What is radiation? Is it fixed since the alien created the planet?
4. You mentioned that the alien loses defence and money from every attack, but is it significant? This is not an important question because it may be changed in the future.
5. How does the damage from the invasion weaponry + invasion crew translate to how much damage it is done?
Currently, I feel that there is a lack of tutorial on winning the game. There is barely any information on planetary invasion on the library or a mention from the advisor. So adding more information in the library on alien and how their stats work might be a really good idea.
On the gameplay suggestions:
A. I could not click on the alien colony to see what the stats are unless I send a planetary invasion ship next to the planet. It is not advisable to use a planetary ship to scout since it's movement is limited to 3 compared to an exo-scout with 4 movements. So if possible you could allow the "explore" tactic on scout ships to investigate or "launch" a surveillance satellite to monitor the stats of the alien colony. Otherwise, there is no way to determine which planet is "easier" to invade. If there are 2 planets equally far from my planet, I would rather invade the planet with the lowest defence or that is less prepared.
B. From the new update, the CP has been fixed to show the proper value. I assume that the TP is within the bracket. Is it possible to include a separate value for TP instead of being incorporated into CP. Another thing to include might be the Trade Point value. I cannot find it anywhere in the game, and I know the value fluctuates depending on the trade politics. Another idea is to show the breakdown of the economics on a global scale if possible, otherwise on a planet scale, where sometimes morale can affect the effective workforce.
BUG: After the new update. Saw a new blue enemy ship that looks like a mass driver, whenever I tried to press it, it crashes the game. I'm using an android ASUS Nexus
