It may not be super important now, but looking through the Wish List threads, I see the Trese Brothers talking about Factions being more important later. Could you color-code the ships so we can quickly and easily tell the Faction to which they belong? For example, make all House Thulun ships yellow, Javat green, and Steel Song blue? Use whatever colors you like. Just gave those as examples to better illustrate my idea.
I know you can click on a ship, then view its stats screen to find its Faction but that can be very time consuming when you have nearly two dozen ships.
Another option would be to add buttons on the 'All Ships' screen to filter by Faction, but I like the first idea much better. Thoughts?

Seconding a faction indicator.
However, as I would like to use custom colors to distinguish my ships (e.g. blue for refuelers, red for repairers) , faction color code bites with that.
No idea right away how to easily achieve both.

Nullzone - your request to be able to pick colors / visual design during ship design was so well put. If we have the power, why not put it in your hands!?

I like it! I agree with Nullzone as well on being able to use it to distinguish two ships of the same type with different functions. My repair and refuel ships look identical at this point. |
