Confirmation dialog when pressing 'back' in ship designer

So here I am , paging up to stage 5 of 8 in designing my new fighter. Realize I put in to many materials so I press 'back' at the top of the page and I lose the entire design at once -- because "back" really means "exit". the button I wanted was "prev", down in the lower left hand corner.
A dialog box of the form "Are you sure you want to abandon this design"? When clicking on the back button would be most gratifying. Perhaps, also , "Menu" or "Exit" would be a better noun than "back", because "back" and "previous" mean the same thing.
