Is there a way to to "un-colonize" planets? And if there isn't there really should be a way. I hate finding myself on a lvl 7 quality planet, and stuck with it. Since the planets are shown with a range of potential quality I can't really know if the planet is worthless until I grab it. I'd much rather not have the people on the planet become pissed off at me; I'd rather get off the cesspool and move somewhere else

amongstshadows : Nope. Once you colonize a planet you got to live with it. Sometime, a planet is sold to independent and so its population cannot grow anymore...

Hold on to the planet, keep them happy you'll find with a few Upgrades even a Q7 can be OK.

I also have a Q5 forward operating fleet base owned by House of Thulun. So far I have 2 x "Hab Unit 4", 1 x Orbital Mine 1, 1 x Orbital Platform 1. Here are the stats: Population: 8/11 Upgrade: 3/5 Factory: 1/8 Mineral: 2/13 Morale: 7/10 Note: I decide to use Thulun because of the +2 CP bonus. All 3 of these are essentially forward operating bases against the Aliens. Allowing my fleet to fuel up before the long trip across space. With $556K in the bank and income of +3.5K per turn, I can afford this kind of money loosing systems.

Oh, I can think of a nasty way to get the planet evacuated. It's called "Worldkiller Eviction Services, LTD."
To wit, deliberately abandon the planet to the aliens. After they've killed everyone on the planet, move in your own transports and bombard the planet until it is a dead system.
Such an action, of course, is something no true templar would ever do, since it is an amoral action without any regard for the value of human life. However, I can damn well imagine the faction leaders doing such a thing, since 'amoral and without regard for human life' describes them to a T.
Respectfully,
Brian P.

Upcoming releases will include an expensive Political option to abandon the lowest quality world you have to Independent Star Traders.
Would that help?
