I was reading some tips for my Nexus 5, and it suggested clearing the cache. Checking here to be sure that won't impact my saved TB games.

tenbsmith - generally, "Clear Cache" is an option you can do from app to app. So, we are often telling people to go to Settings > Apps > Google Play > Clear Cache because it is causing errors.

I used a cache cleaner yesterday and didn't seem to do any damage to my Cyberknights game. Is this just a worry or an actual problem?

I quite often clear cache, when memory gets low, or there is an issue. All it does with the Google Play Store, is make me login and accept terms and conditions again. I also go to my internet browser settings and clear... COOKIES. Get's rid of annoying ads, that target me personally. FORM DATA. Clears out any personal details I've entered into a form, that may still be stored, in my browser, (I hope). PASSWORDS. Gets rid of browser stored passwords. SEARCH history. Speaks for itself. CACHE. All data pertaining to previous pages visited, etc. One thing I would be careful with, is, DON'T clear APP cache, on an app that you're presently using, just in case the game/app data, is stored in cache, UNTIL you exit the game/app. I'm sure Cory, or someone else, will correct any Inaccuracies, in my post, (please do).

Trese Brothers games do not make use of cache, so clear away.

Thanks guys. I will clear when i get a chance. I have had no problem. I'm looking at this as maintenance/performance-preservation. I do this on my laptop from time to time, but I'm still relatively new to android and I'm cautious with the dozens of hours of gameplay in my TB save files.

If you're using Android 4.2 or below and are rooted you can also use a great little app called lagfix. And i would also suggest clearing the dalvik cache one in a while. Apps like Lucky Patcher can do that. It's kinda hard to explain but dalvik cache is like a cache between 2 caches... And it can slow your system down quite a lot over time.

Dalek Cache? Seriously, I'm not rooted, only 5 months into Android. It's gonna be a while before I consider rooting my Nexux 5. I'm also sticking with only Google Play apps for the time being, may get into side loading later. VincentD, I don't see Lucky Patcher on Google Play, can you recommend a Google Play app with this capability?

Hi tenbsmith. You won't find Lucky Patcher, or an equivalent, on Google Store, because, the app is often used for cracked software, so an app can be used without paying the devs, for their hard work. Also it can be used to stop advertising. Google frown heavily, on these activities. "Proper" developer forums like XDA, also frown on such actiivity, and have site rules, that forbid even talking about ways of gaining access, to an app, through cracking etc. See this. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548891

God this makes me fucking sick... Lucky Patcher can be used for dozens of things other than cracking apps, and it's not even good at doing that!

Even freedom app is also very good at it. Luckypatcher has become obsolete now. Also, freedom list of compatible apps and games is much bigger as compared to the luckypatcher.
