Walk me through this if you will, in case I got something wrong...
I'm trying to earn "Master Explorer", by charting 45 previously uncharted islands. I'm assuming those are the little yellow things on the map. When I visit one, a new mapped destination appears on my map series, so that I can keep track of how many I've visited by counting them up (otherwise, I have no idea how to keep track of them, because the 'game score' doesn't list them-- only how many times I've bothered searching on those islands to gather supplies (I think). [for that matter, how do I get the opportunity to lead a 'land expedition'...Anyway...
So on my way to 45, for some reason, I either think the game has stopped counting them for me, or doesn't count certain islands, or some discovered islands aren't map-able for my captain. There could be some game mechanic that I'm not aware of blocking me, but obviously I don't know

No "Barrowpond Cove" ... Only "Spanish Island". It's actually happened to me a couple different times out in that area. My native country is Ruseland, so I was wondering if I didn't get credit for charting islands in lands controlled by entities that really really hate me 
... But, eventually I was able to get at least 45 lands to appear as "charted" on my map screens--

* So I've got to 45 (at least, considering the issues I've had charting islands in Stag Leap [5, 3] and Highview [5, 2]) ... And I do see that this asterisked Islands seems to have the same name as the one I was having trouble with in Stag Leap, although this problem wasn't prohibitive in Stone Coast [3, 2].
I thought that I couldn't just "record exploits" anywhere-- so I tried it in capitals in which I'm well respected, including my home nation. So far, nothing has worked to get me the award. I probably could chart a whole bunch more and eventually get it somehow, but I wanted to post this just in case, because 45 is the stated requirement.
Is there some light you can shed on this issue..?
