I'm enjoying my self immensely with this awesome game but the endgame does get tedious. Theres a point I reach in every game when I know I have the upper hand and just start a new one instead of slowly invading and eliminating the Xeno. I have some suggestions that might help this:
1. Make invading faster. How about some really expensive and really powerful invading/bombarding modules that at least gives us the option to sacrifice our income to invade faster? Preferably to be installed in only 1-3 transports cause moving 8 ships to a large number of worlds is incredibly boring.
2. Xenos never weaken As long as the enemy throughout the game gives you a challenge it won't get boring. Not even when you capture their last planet. Maybe have them get reinforces from outside the map or w/e.
3. Different ways to win I know I'm stealing these ideas but what about the option to win through research or economics. Or simply by controlling the majority of the map. Some how combined with being on edge with Xenos always being a threat. We could research a bioweapon that will automatically ensure victory against the Xenos for example. An economic victory could be a set amount of money in bank or a new highly cp costly exchange that when built on a set number of worlds (depending on worlds on the map) gives you the victory.
What do you think?

I like most of your ideas here! I can't agree with economic wins as the Xeno could not give a flying hoot of how much money you have, but researching a bioweapon to keep them out of this slice of the universe sounds pretty valid to me. But I'd still like having a few scraggly remnants to take out, if weakened or even downgraded.

2. Xenos never weaken As long as the enemy throughout the game gives you a challenge it won't get boring. Not even when you capture their last planet. Maybe have them get reinforces from outside the map or w/e. This would mean that the difficulty in the game is flat and that you never feel the gratification of defeating the xeno. We'd have to rip out all the complexity of their economy, planet growth, AI, etc. I don't think we'll take this one up.

Im only suggesting something that keeps the game challenging throughout the game but never boring. You shouldn't only cater to masochists like me though.
