Currently I think only the nebulae and the unoccupied systems are shown permanently on the map. I think the Asteroid fields should be shown as well unless they are going to move. Also Xeno systems should be shown if I send ships close enough to them.

Agreed. While vacant stars are put on the map once clicked on , alien colonies cannot be mapped.
Respectfully,

I doubt there is such a thing as going independent for xeno colonies and the xenos aren't fighting each other anyway. So they will stay as the same state until we human players attack them. Also whatever nebulae and anomalies should be shown once discovered.

Also whatever nebulae and anomalies should be shown once discovered. Are you possibly playing on an old release?

The anomalies that I actually Explore will stay on the map for sure. However those that are found in the long range patrols are not marked. My initial recons usually go way out until I run out of fuel so Exploring everything is not an option.

fallen- I think this had been suggested before, but I couldn't locate the thread. I recall there being a request to have the unexplored anomalies act like uninhabited planets once they are inspected. I too have difficulties locating anomalies once I move away from them and the fog of war descends.

I agree. All features should be visible on the map once discovered (I find it particularly annoying to remember where the nebulae are). Of course, there should be FOW over areas not in current view as to ships and other changes, but you should be able to see the features as last viewed. This is how Civilization and most similar ganes work.
