Hey guys, as you can see, I'm making a loss. Currently at war with the Xeno, and have about $660,000 in the bank. In about 300 turns, I will run out of moniez. My maint rate was used to be around 80%, when I was making heaps each turn. It has now shot up, and I am afraid of it going even higher. Anyways, what do you guys reckon I should do? Basically I can't really get rid of any upgrades since... they're all necessary. Maybe a few Factories, but I'd much rather not. They're Factory 5s, so they do generate income anyways. How do I even read this screen anyways? XD I don't really understand what all the numbers refer to. Can someone give me a guide? Oh and I do have one Trade Alliance and two Spy Wars going on. At one point I had three Trade Alliances, which was epic. But that didn't last. @_@ Anyways, not too sure how to solve those Spy Wars... Basically, any suggestions y'all?

Don't worry about it, I think. In 20 turns or so, assuming you (try to) take care of those spy wars using trade routes, it should be fine and fix itself, for whatever reason.

I have a problem, I can't get rid of the Spy Wars. I tried to make Trade Routes but they never succeed. D:

You can't do anything to get rid of those spy wars, you just have to wait it out

How far into the war with Xenos? Do you think you can finish them off before you run out of $$? What are you playing as?
You are well ahead of the "curve" with that much money in the bank while at war. The idea for me is not to capture everything, destroy many systems while capturing the few in strategic locations for refuel.

I'm not very far in, still have about 62 systems to destroy. I'm playing the 100 x 100 map, 90 worlds on Impossible difficulty. Battling Red Zorga, Jyeeta and Sidtax. As above, I currently have 22 systems.
Good news! Both Spy Battles have dissipated. Bad news is I'm still at -702/turn at only have $536,826 left. 95% maint.
Same with me, the idea is to smack stuff to the ground as much as possible, which I am doing... slowly. :3
Hopefully once my Trade Routes and Alliances occur, I'll be one happy camper. Which... has not occured yet. Spice Treaties kept failing. :/
[EDIT]
Wow lol wtf. I pressed end turn and in one turn my maint dropped to 85%, and I start making 2.1k/turn.
Problems solved! Lol.

Just remember to repair and refuel your fleets via Carrier and cycling so that Maintenance costs stay low.

Yes they do! I'm sitting on 2.5 mil at the minute Sheesh! And I thought I was sitting on a big pile of cash at $300k. Back to upgrading, I guess

Don't read too much into it:
My profit margin hovers around the +7k mark, and everything has been researched.
I've upgraded most buildings to their max level, and am not building much at once (hence CP conversion to cash)
This is on my nth playthrough of the Tutorial map, so there's little to no challenge; I built a fleet of warships early on, allowing my empire to hit a huge negative balance afterwards for ship maintenence, wiped of the Xenos and then disbanded all my ships to bring the cash flow back up (And bring the average morale all the way up to 9 - it was as low as 5 during my war)
This is after (hang on I'll have a look)... 899 game turns, and it's the year 18.15 AE. I have been trying to get the '3 alliances' achievement.
So the figure is pretty arbitrary; there's little I can do with the cash, and it's only that high because I keep ending turns trying to set uo three alliances at once.
Ultimately I suppose, cash would be pretty limitless in the endgame until population control becomes an issue. I'm sure I could double my 2,513,648 if I sat ending turns long enough, as could anyone playing at this difficulty.
So, the drama of my announcement is not nearly as impressive as it sounds!

started a war with the xeno at around 300k in the bank. took a fairly large sized clusterof about 8 systems, and as I am colonizing the last world, my bank is at less than 30k.
the amount of money it takes to wage war is staggering lol. spy wars are truly crippling

Though one Spy War and two Trade Alliances can keep your econ alfoat while giving +RP. My economy is stable enough that I can affprd to have 2 Spy Wars at once.

I tried a war(admittedly on easy) and I started with 200 credits. It went OK, I guess, it wasn't *bad*.
