The Travelers just reached the East Gate of Oskahold, but haven't fought anyone there, and are at 4,815,330. I was pretty happy about that until mataeus pointed out it was pitiful. :-( ;-) |

Oh don't worry, my 24m is just before going into the Shaman's lair, a few hours ahead of where you are. And it's with several deaths  |

Just cleared out the farmhalls and northern fort and sitting at 16,892,545.  Ironically, the worst fight I had I under estimated a rat swarm and almost lost Selen . Yet the Nordhall Troll fell in three turns. |

ncaoa, good to see someone else posting on the hard thread. 3 turns to kill the troll sounds good. My group is in the Vermin Lair working their way towards the Shaman having already taken care to the farmhalls and the lost caravan. With good tactics and good luck I should be posting my post shaman score soon--which seems like a good milestone. fallen, I play my life on Nightmare Ironman, so when I play HoS I like to step down to Hard so I can relax. ;-)

tenbsmith thanks. There was a bit of luck involved as Selen was hitting consistently in the 30-40 point range and Vraes in the 20-30 range.Kyera and Vincent sapped its Ap and helped wail on it. Aaaand of course I jinx it by posting.Left Vincent exposed fighting the Deathkin and now I have to restart.

Ha ha ha ha ha hahahah;ahaharghhhhhhh! I'm dead! I may have been tempting the fates by saluting those who died before me.
So stupid. I was super cautious approaching the Great Shaman and didn't have any problems. Then I got cocky while fighting the shaman and advanced Vraes when I should have fallen back. He would have survived but none of the ranged attacks got caught by Phalanx Shield. Ah well, time to start again.

I feel your pain ... I'm in the Torrent Watershed and got a lucky draw in the Temple to get the heavy armor. I am thinking of giving it to Fyona to ensure she survives, as Vraes is a tank at this point naturally.

Good on you Fallen for getting the heavy armor.
The pain of my ignominious death has faded enough for me to post my high score, captured at the time of my death as I understand it--46,410,130. For now, this score is #7 on Google Plan and the highest Hard Ironman score on these boards... someone come knock me down.
Meanwhile, I've just entered Oskahold with 5,911,530 points on my next ironman run. Travelers II is similar to Travelers with a few tweaks (e.g., more Phalanx and less Burst for Vraes); I'll write this up on the build thread at some point.

Just finished my hard ironman run after making a stupid mistake and getting KJ killed at Kern's End. We were definitely on pace to easily finish Ep. 1 with no deaths. #2 (sigh) on the Amazon Hard No Deaths leaderboard with 67,421,040. Vraes, Kjartan, Kyera, Selen Ugh...  |

Joining this thread. Finally stepped up to hard and got to 14 million before my first death at the hands of the Deathkin. Vraes could not stand up to 2 of them. This game is punishing if you don't make the right move. Very well balanced. I know some complain about too much gold, but I am missing my normal allotment :-0
Now we will see how far I can get with one death. Seeking the Shaman and at about 16 million.
