We're expanding the ST 4X universe to include the lesser known Star Trader Syndicates, ones only featured in the table top game, not ST RPG.
Since none of these names are well known to the community, we have an opportunity to rename one or more of them, if better names present themselves.
This is a call to our friends and Alpha Backers to post ideas for these new Syndicates (or Clans, if you have something in mind.)
To be clear, if you post something here you're giving us the option to use it, make derivative works and copyright it as needed. We cannot use anything that's already copyrighted but we'll handle cross-referencing it against the necessary databases for that.

*cracks knuckles* Unico is a political syndicate based on the evacuated personnel, resources and dependents of the defunct United Interstellar Products Corporation left behind within the Terran core worlds. Their mobile manufacturing platforms and resource collection methods were of great use in maintaining both the exodus fleets and the Templar navy. Unfortunately, Unico was one of the factions hardest hit by the Guild Wars, and are no longer thought to exist as a faction within the exodus fleets, though much of what remained of their ships and resources were absorbed into House Javat. Unico faction may still exist in some of the fringe exodus fleets and remote colonies. Unico was once a prime exporter of weapons, electronics, modular colony habitats, and gas mining equipment and vehicles. As such even the administration and executive division of the faction often exude a blue collar, no nonsense outlook with a strong emphasis of morality and personal integrity. I can throw a flag logo together if necessary

Caulad Syndicate is a master at exploration and deep space resource extraction. Their scout ships are fast, crews alert, and they always looked beyond human space for the riches in the unknown. Caulad scouts were fearless and always ready for the unexpected. Caulad Explorers were known for being able to escape the worst of fates in Wild Zones and Anomalies. Caulad Syndicate scouts made up a large part of the Exodus Fleet's scouting force, but were relatively few in number. They were scattered more easily than most from the fleet and remnents were absorbed by the Cadar and Javat. Cadar wanted good scouts to get them an edge in finding defensible systems and good places for outposts. The Javat wanted them to more easily find high Mineral worlds.
I would say their Explorers gain a bonus to Anomaly rolls and a bonus to Asteroid Refueling operations. I know the Anomaly boost won't have much of an impact until more effects are added but it would be a useful ability when effects are added.

Hmmmm, a few references from West Africa. Nice and foreign sounding. Maybe a jumping off point.
Fajar/Fajir (Dawn in Arabic) Taoudine (Sounds similar to a city in the Sahara dessert) Samori (A precolonial warlord who established in brief empire in interior West Africa before the French arrived.) Sundjata or Sundiata (Founder of the Mali empire) Soumaoro (Kanté) (Sundiata's sorcerer nemesis.) El Hadj (A title given to someone who has made the pilgrimage to Mecca) Futa Jallon or Futa Toro (Two imamates in Guinea and Senegal respectively) Yoonu Murit (anglicization of the name of a contemporary Sufi Muslim Brotherhood in Senegal)

Oh no - not small hats. They must have been acquired by Rychart as Rychart were diversifying from the Rouge wines

The Fallen
An extremely pious and fundamentalist regime that seeks the return of Shalun. A major supporter and financier of the templar order. The fallen believe shalun will return when his "fallen" children are worthy. Although they tend to eschew economic and political strength compared to their felloarew houses and syndicates, religious sway over all the citizens of the quadrant and the fearsome yet honorable templar, many of whom are produced amongst the rich and strict traditions of the fallen, ensure that the Fallen will always hold an influential position in any quadrant.
Basically, a militarized Vatican.

That, my friend, I doubt very much. All I hope is that we can keep making games. Otherwise, back to corporate development for us both. =)

Mark my words And in the unlikely event you don't become financially rich, you have the appreciation, thanks and acknowledgement of thousands of people who have many hours of enjoyment playing truly lovingly crafted games. That's richness too ST2 will be huge though, the market desperately needs it.

Omicron Order
They were known for producing elite mercenary strike teams and building elaborate intelligence networks. Always rather small in number and tending towards lurking in the shadows most are believed to have been absorbed into Thulun and Steel Song around the time of the exodus...however as befits their heritage they may yet rise out of the shadows and into a place of prominence, flourishing in the unknown stretch of a new quadrant.
Flag would have a closed book on it with the eye of Horus symbolizing hidden knowledge.
