What about an EMp grenade since those are real. Or perhaps a self destructing drone that runs up to your enemy and explods. Possibley explosive grenades? (with the 1% chance of blowing urself up....? :33) The problem with grenades is the grenades at there is no AOE damage capabilities. I just noticed that emoticon thing at the end of your post. Well, if that's how you're looking at it, then technically grenades are feasable, they just would work like low-range pistols and not have splash damage, so there wouldn't really be a point...

But oh heck, how much do I want this in ck2!! At the beginning, the chance would be 10%, and with every skill upgrade, it'd decrease by 1. ... But regarding the way how you put it, grenades could be implemented... Perhaps with a range of 8+, and with each Strength and Perception Skill upgrade the hit chance and throw-distance would increase? What cha say, Cory Trese? Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk

Ain't that a way how they could already be implemented? I mean, look at it! Doesn't even need aoe.

Edit....
Put it on the regulations in the NBZ that they're too small and powerless to cause aoe, but enough to turn a single foe into clutter... Might be esp. useful against Riot Shields...

Seems like we would get negative reviews from that. I think people are happier with the in-game explanation about explosives than they would be about grenades that don't work at all like grenades.

I'm advocating an AoE damage system and I cannot see anywhere that we argue for anything else. Your post is highly confusing. Maybe some more details? Anyway, as it is I don't think we'll be adding explosives to CK1. Thanks!!!

After reading the other posts.... How about a grenade launcher?
Fires a sonic grenade (emits subsonic through hypersonic) like a flash bang. Could cause MP damage to humans and hunds and the hypersonic could do structural (HP) damage to drones (think tuning fork). Just don't fire near your teammates... (Can't fire if teammate is within two squares?)
And make it REALLY expensive so enforcers can't afford them to use against you....

Casa no offense man but that sound way too much like a hazard...It would probaly be equivalent to a MP blaster gun sniper rifle? It would work it just wouldn't be an actual grenade launcher....What about a tranqulizer dart gun? 35% chance of hit it's like a sniper rifle but only causes MP damage and lots of it. That I could see being done...grenade launcher wouldn't fit this game engine (No explosion...)

With the advanced technology in ck it would be feasible to have a long range shock weapon, the projectile being wireless by having a ridiculous battery rigging up to it.
