What did you choose? Make the fight now or let them go? I chose the fight to impede certain characters, though I do worry about the impact on Episode 3.
With so many story arc decisions, I am always curious about the choices and impact and what other people are choosing and why. Sadly, I do not have enough free time to run multiple parties through on Nightmare difficulty to test the different combinations.

phaze, maybe not too many people have made it there. I've got one of each group so it will be interesting to see what happens when later content is released. I'm curious as well about taking the money. In three groups I've never taken the money (just doesn't feel right) and I'm wondering if that might have an immediate effect when you go back and talked to Morgan and Kea. If you killed their brother and game back loaded with his gold, would they respond differently.

He brings experience -> he dies!
No, just kidding. I killed him because he attacked me on the Evesses order. Don't blame me.

Wait, I played the scene several weeks ago and do not recall the money? There is a reward for rescuing valant. Morgan and kea asked me to deliver a message to vlotgar. I then followed them out to the lodge and making the choice at the lodge. Am I missing something?
I wish I had enough character groups to map out the choices for future story development. I suspect many threads becoming important and tied together.

I suspect many threads becoming important and tied together. There is a wagon near where Vlotgar tries to flee. When you walk by it, it triggers a dialogue that should give you the chance to take or leave it and it says something about it being blood money. I've never taken it. I especially felt bad after I killed Vlotgar. You know, it looks bad "Yeah I killed your son and stole all his money, but really, he's the bad guy." My guess is that if wanted to bother walking back up there, you could still trigger the dialogue. Just go wander over by the wagon on left.

phaze - After the battle, if you go to the wagon on the west side (I'm not sure if you actually have to click on the wagon or just be next to it), you'll find the money in question. Just for the record, I also have one party that let them walk and one that didn't. The funny thing is, I didn't even consider the money as being an important story choice until you mentioned it contributor. I've always taken the money (just like after you rescue Valent and find the cache of money there too). And now I'm thinking, of course it must be since you're prompted on whether to take it or not. Oy, let's see how this all plays out.

?? I've triggered the dialogue multiple times, having played through the Orcin caverns with different parties. However, I do not recall ever being given a chance to take the money? It only ever triggered the brief dialogue with no choice following. Does one need to actively click the wagon like the changed Ratkin hut?

Hmm...now I wonder what else I've missed in the game. It isn't always intuitive when something is clickable for an action. Thanks for the info!

Yep, either it is all clickable (like D2's barrels, baskets, clay pots, etc.) or something really needs to stand out in this kind of game. Especially since you told us long ago that the game wasn't into clickables.

Seems like a few more of these have slipped into the game. They are very limited. I am working on a list of places where we should replace these with an active tile, which is obviously calling your attention, and when you tap it, it would change ... seems like they are almost all wagons at the moment.

1) I triggered the wagon's gold in the middle of the fight---not sure if I clicked on the wagon in my efforts to re-group next to it (it's in a nice defensible position between both attacking parties.). 2) I opted to not kill the little brat, declined all three offers. Not sure how that alters the game but when I got the wagon's gold, there was no mention of it being blood money. Instead it stated it was gold to pay someone off. 3) Given the multiple yes/no (kill / don't kill) questions, there seems to be multiple outcomes to the fight:
A) Say yes right away: fight him before he leaves and fight his entire hunting patrol (kill) B) Say no right away but say yes in second prompt: Fight him as he starts to open the guardian gates, which fights his entire his patrol(?). (kill) C) So no right away, say no as he opens the gate but say yes as he starts to leave: Fights about 1/2 his patrol (kill). D) So no every time: He gets away, and you fight an orcin horde instead. (Live).
I've only done the NO KILL option so I'm guessing on the other outcomes based on the in-game text and comments in this thread.
For the no kill option, there's no reference to the wagon's gold being blood money (guilt free!) and the heroes are thanked for staying their weapons when they get back to town. Party claims that anyone could have been twisted by the Dark God as well as Vras admitting he too walked a dark path before he found his way to a right path again.

vdx - I love hearing your role-playing thoughts on the choice. Great analysis. As it is a big choice, we wanted to be very clear that you were going to have to decide to kill him. Therefore, we prompted the question twice. We didn't want anyone being surprised when they first said "Yes" that they then were on the path to kill the second son of a powerful leader in the Underdeep, and the brother of two close friends.
There really are only two outcomes - spare or kill.
