I was thinking with the new system, perhaps level 2-3 exploration could be an option which had better chance at a good result?

Great idea. I think higher level exploration will result in different, more valuable events.
So if the choice is 10/20 CP for a Level 1 Explorer, Level 2 might give a similar event that generates 20/30 instead.
Your suggestion will give us a way to advance Exploration results to keep pace with the player's tech level and required reward sizes.

This could also help the ships keep up with technology progression perhaps

Eh, only if you can find anomalies that late-game.

Well you could strategically wait out on exploring certain Anomalies. And Xeno space usually has a few.

Eh, only if you can find anomalies that late-game. Upcoming "Quadrant Events" includes a change of resetting previously explored anomalies.

Cory: would you be willing to share the exact benefits xenos get from xeno points? Thanks.

I don't understand this post. What ships? The Ones you can get from exploration I would probably create some unique ships that cannot be built, they're crashed hives, Exo-Scouts or Templar Cruisers that would be picked based on game turn. I do get what you're saying now, makes sense. I'll try to use that!
