*TORPS* Did someone say... Movies??? Both Dredds are ok in my book, as well as Interstellar and 28 Days Later. On my end recently I rewatched Oblivion, Elysium, and John Carter. I also finally got to witness that hawt mess that is Jupiter Ascending! and to prep for it, i finally sat down and watched Cloud Atlas(like 3 or 4 times, talk about a dense movie, its like watching a season of Metal Hurlant in 3 hours, all chopped up and mixed together). All great stuff, I recommend it. By the way, RIP Leonard Nimoy, what a guy! Oblivion is great, but I LOVE Cloud Atlas. The book is excellent too: Each character's story is started in the first half of the book, then finished in the second half, but they're embedded in the book's structure. For example, where numbers equal characters: 1 first 2 first 3 first 4 first 5 first 6 complete 5 second 4 second 3 second 2 second 1 second In every story, the character finds a history of the character who lived in a time BEFORE they did. So '1' finds, say, a diary and begins to read it. This starts '2's story, who discovers a science paper written by '3', and so on. It's hard to put into proper structure writing on a mobile with limited time available to me, but I hope you get the idea! Sorry for this condensed, garbled post

So I just watched Event Horizon. It was creepy but I like how they made the ships look...realistic? Great movie, if you haven't seen it you should.

I know, right? I really like Warhammer 40k but that stuff is to expensive for me. I've been looking at some of the Horus Heresy books though. They look cool!

I'm not a huge fan of the game or the fiction. I'm uncomfortable with idolizing despotism, on that... grandiose a scale.
But I did like Ultramarines.

I think it's more of a tragedy then anything else. Everything that humanity has become is what their god emperor fought against. Plus the the oppressive grimdark makes the heroes shine all the brighter, you know?

I liked how they kept the horror subtle, the garbled message on the bridge for example. Makes you paranoid.

Oooh Metal Hurlant is so cool! My favorite episodes were the western with James marsters and the bounty hunter/sci-fi one with Joe flannigan.

It was okay. Not something that I would watch multiple times. I liked the concepts but it was too predictable for me. Is it part of a series?

The movie Enders Game was ok and at least didn't try a rewrite of the book it's based on. slayernz not sure if they are planning on making any sequels to it, Orson Scott Card has written a number of books related to it so it's possible. If you've not done so already find a copy of the book it will definitely be worth your time to read it.

I actually did see it multiple times. She puts it in sometimes when we party.
I agree with the premise that if some aliens attempted a half ass invasion, humanity would probably track them down to do total war. Moth queen was kinda cool.
