I'd be okay with carrying half an officer with me, with the other half back in drydock storage. That way they can't be revived by an evil usurper captain, wanting to steal my prized officers away from me. Taking the legs with me means that if I do need to eat them, the officer should still be okay, and and and, legs make great scratching posts.  |

Well i guess that would work except for the cost that is. I know a better idea cache luxury rations on planets cheaper and will last longer

I have no idea what a giraffe actually sounds like, so we'll have to keep them Cryo-frozen until we figure that one out
