It's a odd bug...
When I enter the choose gun and scroll down it shows a bonus of only 3 attack, but when I scroll up again, it shows 3 attack and 1 defense. I can't upload pictures now but will tomorrow if I can find the time.

@awesomedary - thanks for the report on this. It is a common mistake we can make in mis-using the table API.
In what screen exactly are you seeing the issue? In the Ship designer picking a weapon? Or after the ship is built and you're looking at its load out, or when you're looking at the gun as a technology?
I have created #4X-2614 and it should be an easy fix if you identify the exact table.
