View from the bridge:
If you choose "Port", you may enter the Port or have an encounter:
I chose "Avoid" this time:
After depart I was back at the bridge, the same happens if you win the battle (or you retreat from the battle and escape):
But when you encounter a friendly ship, there's "Salute" option instead of "Give Up":
If you choose "Salute", you are taken directly to the port, not back to the bridge:
