So I had this game for two years and never played it. I just got to Tutorial Mission 4 and think I should purchase the Heavy Leviathan Cannon. But it says I need 300 honor and 13 prestige (or close to it). I don't spend prestige, correct?

abysmal - no, you don't spent Prestige. You earn it over time by beating missions and killing xenos. Each Templar earns some Prestige, as well as your Captain, and your entire squad as a unit - all summed together to give you final score. Your Prestige is a limit on what you can purchase. If you haven't earned 13 Prestige, then the Order of Templar Knights won't let you requisition a Heavy Leviathan Cannon.
