After having 2 bad starts and 1 nearly finished game using this map, I think the initial spawn locations for the default 3 xenos need to be revised.
Player starts near 69, 58.
It seems the 3 default xeno locations are: Position 1: 39,82 - lower near left Position 2: 36,29 - upper center Position 3: 89,90 or 75,87 - bottom right (not exactly sure)
I have no issue with positions 1 and 2. Position 3 is the problem. Xeno ships are coming up that arm near the system at 94,72 very early on. This is way too early for a map of this size regardless of difficulty you want to play in. Unless the player is extremely conservation about exploration, you will run into that group before Year 1 is half over. It is a bit of a waste for such a nice huge well designed map. For big map, there should be a bit of neutral zones or DMZ between the player starting area and the xenos.
I ran into xeno very early on that "arm" for 2 starts using the default 3 xenos. Then I decided to just play with 2 xenos and position 3 was not in use. If I played on using first 2 starts, the game will be very tough even in Normal difficulty because I would have to constantly build up my fleet and neglect the various peaceful researches. Most likely I will
Here are the locations where I suggest the xenos to start at: Current Position 1: 39,82 - lower near left
Position 2: 36,29 - upper center
Proposed Position 3: 15,80 - lower left Position 4: 17,54 or 10,35 - extreme left Position 5: 75,30 or 63,20 - right upper Position 6: 22,12 - upper left
I think these "proposed" location will make this map better. And more options if you want to have more xenos.
