Overmining

Do the higher-improvement mine bonuses apply if you are over the maximum minerals on the planet? Take a planet with 10 minerals, for example. If I have 3 x Mine 4, do I still get the +1 Trade & +1 Research on the third mine? Or is the bonus on the third Mine 4 curtailed because it now puts me at 12/10 minerals?

You can still get the extra bonuses, but no benefit for mining points.
