Is the system misconstruing all things Buccaneer for East Acadain when it comes to completing commissions? I noticed the following...
A commission against the Buccaneers, but that calls me to go to "the docks" in Cnork ... Cnork is an East Acadain location. Which would mean that this is the first commission I've had to complete that depended on my reputation with a third party. I didn't even realize this at the time, which I was to discover when I finally got to Cnork...
So I'm not able to enter the docks... because the third-party entity hates me... At the time I thought it was a bummer, because I was automatically going to expire the commission, lose rank, etc.
Anyway, then a ways later I was over at Cannanore (Buccaneer port), and I picked up a commission from the Buccaneers this time, and this is what it said...
Well... I thought it was strange anyway... East Acadain v. East Acadain? Beware of the East Acadain Company who might stop a commissioned officer of East Acadain Company, etc. etc. All started from a Buccaneer port..?
Is this a bug..?

salamano - no, it is not a bug. Factions have internal politics as well, especially in a world without fast communication. Someone from the EA went to the Buckaneer port to find a disreputable character who would quietly work against rivals within his own EA faction. You happened to be the one who was ready to take the job! Does this help address the possible issue?

I suppose it helps... It was just the first commission that was impossible to be completed at the outset that was issued to me. All the others through multiple characters just-so-happened to either meet at the docks of places I was allowed into or met at the bar instead. I'm more concerned about the first situation than the second.

salamano... I've had this happen- it's all part of the tangled webs we weave when we start getting banned from faction ports. The person issuing the commission had no idea wether or not you could actually complete it, only that you were interested in attempting it. Check the commission map- or the main map from the commission menus- you can see the overview of what faction commands what port, so you can determine wether or not it will be a task you can actually do with your current rep.

salamano - yes, based on situations, you can end up being sent on jobs that are possible. Go to the Shipyard, but the Shipyard burnt down. Clearly the intel and commission you were given did not know about the fact that the Shipyard was about to get torched. These sorts of things happen in a simulator that isn't "making sure you win."
