I can't wait to DL and try the new update. I do have a question though, that I can't find the answer to:
What determines your number of Action Points (AP)? I'd like to up those, but don't know what attributes/skills must be raised in order to do so.

What do the colors mean when an event happens? For instance, sometimes someone's following me, and it has a blue border. Other times it has brown, red, etc... I assumed blue meant the encounter was safer, but apparently not, as I get attacked when I confront them.
Also, still waiting for an answer on what determines the number of AP you have.

I was actually also wondering about a color scheme. What is the difference on the large nav-map between the different colored padlocked safe-houses? Sometimes they are RED and sometimes they are YELLOW.

I was actually also wondering about a color scheme. What is the difference on the large nav-map between the different colored padlocked safe-houses? Sometimes they are RED and sometimes they are YELLOW. From what I understand It's the red ones that you can buy the key for, the yellow ones you have to hack into them (maglocks i think) Or vice versa. However I don't think lockpicking is implemented yet. I think it's entirely based on the cumulative stats you have in the physical section of your character combined together with some weird formula, OR it's based on the totally amount of XP you've spent. I don't know the real answer but im pretty sure it uses those numbers somehow. If I'm up to it I might actually get around to some backward numberwork.

I've noticed so far that if an encounter happens with a brown background, it's always either benign (I get a v-chip), or nothing happens (there was no one there). Tan or Gray seems 50/50. Red is completely random, it seems. Likewise, blue is always hostile. But I have no idea why, or if it's really supposed to be like that, or if these are just coincidence.

My sincere hope is that once our vision for the encounter system is done something like this will happen ... On the run, with a corporate hit team hot on the trail. Our Knight dodges between buildings, looking for a way out. They're close, heat is rising. Glancing over his shoulder, he slots the VChip ... but the voice on the other end of the phone says "No." Running hard now, he knows he has to make it to safe ground before they catch up. One more block to the wall and then a quick bribe and ... that's when he sees her. She's in trouble, the thugs harassing her aren't even corporate, she just strayed to close to the wall. Flipping to thermographic vision, the Knight reassures himself -- her fear is real, probably not an ambush. She's wired too -- maybe a Hacker. Possible contact, probably value very high. ... what do you do? Roll the dice? Turn away and leave her to the street thugs? ... The Connector is waiting and the stakes couldn't be higher... jesus dude... YES?!

Damn Cory, damn! that was Awesome!
as for the question regarding the yellow/red padlocks: don't quote me, but I think they are tiered by expense. the yellow ones are much much cheaper than the red ones. again, I could be wrong.
as for the borders...I don't quite know either...but it seems very lacking if you play without it. I found that out by pure accident.

How to solve capture missions: Go buy some gloves that do electricity damage and advertise they knock people out. I do not know if they are necessary for everybody, or only for my poor character who is rubbish at Brawling. Then go to the capture location. Kill all the guards, or at least have them veryfar away from you. Walk up to the person you want to capture. Equip your shocking glove. Punch the person until he falls down. The mission is now a success, as opposed to a failure if you shoot the guy from a distance. Maybe we need a tranquiliser gun for these sorts of missions! HtH, Grävling

thetxlibra - the borders and backgrounds are 100% determined by the section of the city you are in. You get a different color / background in inner city vs. slums. Different parts of each area also have different borders / backgrounds (not all slums use "Grunge" some use "Rusty Metal").
