Reconnoiter, Consolidate
Work, work, work. Sometimes it seems like the only thing we do is go down in the mines for 10 hours a day. We all know that our minerals power the fleets but… is it too much to ask for a holiday once in a while?

Your eminences, the most recent cycle has been extremely busy. There is much to report and I will endeavour to update each of you to the best of my ability. I feel that it is only prudent to start with the most impressive of feats and as such, I shall uncharacteristically call in the admiral or the Templar ships to report on her ship’s actions personally. Admiral Ghans, please report.
*A towering hulk of a woman enters the Council chambers. While she is sharply dressed in Templar Class As, one would have a hard time calling her attractive. Scars line her face and muscles ripple under her uniform*Sirs, upon the recommendation of the Steel Song councilors I dispatched our ships on a long range reconnaissance mission to the north and west of known space. Each ship was sent off with orders to map everything in this sector of space, not ceasing explorations until known space was fully charted.
T.F. The Prophet’s Eyes was dispatched directly west.
T.F. Shalun’s Sword was dispatched directly north and
T.F. Shalun’s Shield was dispatched northeast. This was to be a long term scouting mission with a relatively low chance of Xeno contact and, as such, the ships were ordered to not worry about waterfuel usage.
To state things simply,
11 new worlds were discovered. All of them are suitable for colonization.
Thank you sirs.
*Admiral Ghans salutes and exits the Council chambers* Summary of actions
Approximately 20 weeks have passed since our last Council session, and as can be expected many things have passed. Research into both
Faction Politics 1 and
Faction Politics 2 has completed and
Planetary Construction 3 is currently underway.
Exchanges and
Spice Dens are now available for construction, lords and ladies.
I shall briefly run through our various houses’ exploits, starting with
Steel Song.
Steel Prima completed additional habitation modules and a factory as well as constructing a Spice Den. After completing its own enhancements, the planetary shipyards constructed a Colony Ship. The enhancement of the planet is proceeding in an exceedingly satisfying manner.
Salveria completed construction on its own habitation modules. Unfortunately, it has suffered from some overpopulation during construction and is having some morale issues.
That completes my report on the
Steel Song front, if it pleases the Council I shall move to report on
Clan JavatJavat Prime has further enhanced its resource wealth, completing two additional mines as well as an additional complex of habitation modules to reduce population stresses.
Clan Javat’s report has been made in full,
House Thulun will be discussed next.
Thulun Prime completed a complex of habitation modules, a Spice Den and the empire’s first exchange. Additionally, an additional colony ship was constructed.
Tennath completed an additional factory, some habitation modules, and a mine. Its growth is coming along nicely.
A note, the Thulunian colony ship was required to stop in friendly space near
Steel Prima due to the heavy waterfuel requirement of the journey to
Leiwin[/i]. It is standing by to colonize the planet this very week.
Military Report
As has been reported already by Admiral Ghans, the Templar fleet has performed long range reconnaissance. The ships are almost all back to friendly space where they will have to be refueled, however they uncovered vast tracts of relatively safe space to the rear of our front lines.
The fleet is currently pulling into friendly space over
Thulun Prime and requests leave to refit its ships. It expects at least a solid 10 months of necessary refueling and refitting before it will be 100% battle ready.
Current Status of the Empire
The empire has continued to proliferate and is starting to produce large amounts of industry as well as a burgeoning trade economy.
Javat Prime completed two mining complexes and habitation modules.
It is currently producing a colony ship, which is 68% complete and set to be operational in 2 weeks.
Steel Prima completed habitation modules, a factory, a spice den and a colony ship.
It is currently not producing anything.
Salveria completed a habitation module complex..
It is currently producing a factory complex which is 68% complete and set to be operational in 8 weeks.
Thulun Prime completed some habitation modules, a spice den and an exchange as well as a colony ship.
Its construction queue is currently empty.
Tennath[/font completed a factory complex, a mine and a habitation module.
It is currently producing another factory complex which is 3 weeks from completion at 40%.
Here is our current empire summary.

Possible Avenues of Research
After completion of
Planetary Construction 3 in approximately 6 weeks we will have many choices for continued research.
Planetary Construction 4 would give us access to larger habitation modules, allowing more population to live in a smaller area. It would also allow us to pursue Space Colonization.
Planetary Defense would allow for larger planetary defense installations, specifically allowing the construction of FDF bases on our planets.
Faction Politics 3 would allow for enhanced exchanges as well as negotiation of Trade Treaties.
Starship construction 2 would pave the way for either further starship research or the fighter class of attack vessel.
This concludes my report, lords. Your humble servant awaits your plan for the next cycle.
----------
So, lots and lots of planets were found. As usual, the choices are up to you guys.
1 - Build orders for the planets, any modifications? What do you want on each of your planets? If possible, give me a “starting colony” build order that I can institute as a standard as well as anything special you’d like constructed on each planet. That way, in the future, you can just tell me to follow standard build orders for a new colony.
2- Research, what’s next? Give me the next 2 projects by priority.
3 - Colonization, I have a feeling you guys are going to engage in wholesale colonization efforts now. Start claiming planets and negotiating with each other. I’ll need a list of colonization targets as well as each planets priority on your house’s colonization list.
4 - I’d like a little bit of debate about what kind of military tech we should work on. Do you want to work on fighters? Cruisers? What kind of fleet should we build? One that focuses on lots of cheap ships or few expensive ships? Focusing on guns, torps, or boarding? All, a mix? What kind of military techs should we start to research if and when you want to start building a fleet?
5 - Anything else!
Good luck guys! I think this round of voting and debate will last 36 hours, I’m going to be a little busy over the next couple days. It’s now 9:45 Saturday night my time, so I’ll let the votes run till around 9:45 on Tuesday my time.
