I managed to capture an alien ship with the following features. 20 hull, 3 armor, 35 engines and sails, and 100 crew. All of that after starting an insane pirate and not using any experience. How likely is any of this to happen? It was 57.43 AE.

Screenshot please ... It could be an alien looking ship, but hard to believe that it is an actual alien ship because you can't capture one. We've had threads and threads and THREADS on this. It's all to do with the big anal probe that is the captain's chair. That's one of the things you "connect to" in order control the ship. You don't wanna know where some of the OTHER tentacles and spikes slide in ...
Long story short - you don't want to take an Alien ship - it'll make you have to go to your happy place too often.

I never said I took the ship, I just blew out its engines AKA capturing.

Ahhh, agreed. You can disable and defeat an alien ship. slayernz was jumping at the idea that you could take the ship ...

It was still an amazing kill, even my level 30 something character on crazy couldn't do it.

I don't know how this is even possible, with a warrior skill of 1 I shouldn't have survived unharmed when boarded twice.

Maybe it was all those negative torps you sent ... made them laugh so much they forgot to fight

The first running joke about me that is actually good. There was several jokes back in high school, like the whole security threat incident.

Well that pirate is dead, in 74.8 AE I encountered a narvidian harvester, 60 hull and engines, 30 armor, 80 sails, 250 crew, and I found out by my screen shot that I only had 4 guns.

OH ... so crappy torps and no guns. You may as well have been scooting around in an escape shuttle. At least your captain didn't live to a ripe old age. After a couple of centuries, they begin to smell pretty bad. Not to mention, they really don't get used to all that new technology. They're usually trying to plug their tape decks into the ship's holo-vid player.
