I'm not sure whether this is deliberate or not but, if strict adherence to Latin is desired, the default starting ship should be called "Vae Victis".

It's not so much of a misspelling as an alternative. Vae Victis is a more commonly (much more) accepted spelling, and the one I prefer (it's been my signature long before ST existed throughout various websites / online profiles - pure coincidence), but Victus is also accepted to be correct. So there's no need for the brothers to panic about this, which is embedded into ST and TA Mythology and much more than just a perceived typo, as it's not incorrect per se Also, the pronunciation is "Wey Wiktas", although the Legacy of Kain games would have you believe otherwise

Look, there were many things taken from Planet Dirt, back in the very old days that may have had pronunciation or translation glitches. We are talking thousands of years after all. After all, we've got Vudka, Rouge Wine, and Cusack soldiers startradersrpg.proboards.com/post/41987/thread

Sulfur has simplified the PH. Diarrhea has dropped the O. Language evolves. It's a good thing!

Diarrhea drops more than O ... but I am NOT cleaning it up!

It is intentional as it is.

I took Latin in High School. I didn't do very well.

Well that's good to know. And I think I've got the hang of this game now, more or less.

I took Latin in High School. I didn't do very well. Et tu amici? I took it for the last 2 years for my language requierment, but I dropped it in favor of making room in my schedule for a Polytech class for law enforcement. At my high school, polytech is a shared schedule thing where we get bussed from our school to the polytech campus for about 2 hours, then we get bussed back and finish our day. It's pretty fun and it cuts down on homework because half of my day is one class.

If google translate accepts it - it must be gospel!

I pretty much did the bare minimum I could so I could sneak off and write code. I did ace my typing class though. I often wish I had more foresight and taken a different path through school, but that's getting older, right? Seeing the mistakes you made as a young person bloom

I think ditching Latin in order to code more is not at all a stupid move ... now if you could code IN LATIN, that would be interesting

Only other Latin students would know how to read the code.
Wait, that's already 90% of the population.

Great. Now I'm going to have to run ST2 through Google Translate.
