salamano - thanks, I have a ticket to look at these. It seems like there is some mismatch, in that the upgrade is lying to you about what reward you really need. Investigating!

Just a note... This upgrade issue is still existing in the new release... 'Veteran Solder' on 'Hard' still does not get you the "Barracks Conversion" upgrade, etc.

What device and Android OS are you using? What profession / story character are you playing? Can you post a screenshot of the Unlocks page listing the Unlocked Awards? I was able to do a Factory Reset on a Nexus 7, install AoP, get the Awards (in Elite) and install the Upgrades in question.

The screen-cap from above would still work in this situation... It's grayed out, despite having the money needed and the award unlocked on my character. Likewise, the same for the Barracks Conversion award... I can post either one of those when I come across them again. :-)
I'm running a Galaxy S3, playing Okimoss (though I guess just his portrait). And, running Android version 4.4.2, Kernel version 3.4.0

The Unlocks page uses the same logic as the Dock, so it is more useful than the Awards page. That's why I asked for the additional screenshot, because it will help me either explain it for you, or fix it for the device you're on.

I don't even think I've died, but this actually prevents me from getting unlocks..? I think I've received some though. Maybe not, since I've had some other problems over the pirate months and years in cashing in these unlocks.

Description of Permadeath checkbox has changed recently, now it says "This Captain will not earn Unlocks". Unfortunately it's impossible to check whether Permadeath is turned on or off after game is started. I had similar problems described here. But there is another problem with mismatch between upgrades descriptions and actual unlocks needed to enable particular upgrade. That is, upgrade description says 'Award X to unlock', but in fact you have to award 'Y' to unlock this upgrade, as fallen said few posts ago.

I don't really remember when we updated the New Character screen, but it was a while ago. In the next release, there will be two places to see where Permadeath is set -- from the Score Screen and the Hall of Records. You have had similar issues related to permadeath, agreed. I'm trying to keep up with everyone on the forum and e-mail! ALL of this goes back to why I asked for the Unlocks Screen instead of the Awards Screen... I've looked at that issue was well, I think it's a duplicate. I an the supercheck on the Awards and there are no mismatches, sorry. In that thread the screen that is significant is Unlocks, not Awards. I'm actually going to close that one because after testing and running the checker, there isn't a mismatch.
