In my current state of mind I had a strange thought, sure you cannot pilot an alien ship due to all the extra input necessary but what would stop you from enslaving the aliens to have them run the ship (with you there commanding them at gunpoint). If it would be possible maybe they would attract hostile attention from both aliens they signaled and the Templars who mistaken the ship for just being from the aliens. That and when your crew drops below a certain amount the aliens see their opportunity to attack resulting in massive damage to the captain (possibly killing them). That and it would be nearly impossible to find repairs for the ship and really hard to install upgrades (many being impossible)
This idea might be useless or it might be a thing for st2, either way I shouldn't try to think when I am woken up early.

Lemme see, if the aliens are like the Ripley type Aliens (even Alien Resurrection), or aliens are like the Wraith from SG Atlantis ... then unless you have a dozen or so crew watching the alien at gunpoint ALL the time, then you're gonna find yourself locked away in an emergency safe-pod, while all of the rest of your crew are being eaten, torn apart, drawn on in crayon, or worse.
Me ... I like my entrails on the inside

"Sorry Captain, we're not gonna be able to repair your ship." "What!?" "I know I have the credits." "Yeah, uh, there is an alien staring out of your port hole."

There is no way a human can "enslave" a Xeno for any purpose -- it just doesn't fit the game's canon or universe.
There are cases in the early history of the Galactic War where Planetary Guild agents tried reverse engineer the Xeno, or control them via technology, but those stories would all fall into the category of horror / arrogance of man.
I love the feedback, however, and encourage you to post as many ridiculous ideas as you have =)

Or maybe give the option to enslave xeno ships but when you try you get a toast saying something like
You attempt to enslave the alien but it keeps getting away

Nope, this is a closed case. Xeno ships are Xeno ships and will remain Xeno ships.
This is also a closed case for ST2.

You're using far far too much spice crackshotcerberus. The next stage of spice intoxication, is to actually find the Xeno physically attractive. Marriage can't be far off then.

I don't know enough about the ST universe to write one... It was my first thought too, Brutus Aurelius, and I definitely would, I just don't know enough...
