All of Javat, I didn't actually have time to look at the extended map until now ... and have to admit that Galantia is more suited for Steel Song. The planets that seem better suited to Javat are #10 Baza City #5 Nasrah Outpost #4 Kaflenge #3 Outer Reach They are high resource, reasonable quality, and are well within the core. En1gma and xdesperado, Kaflenge is a planet that you mentioned you might like, but since our growth isn't rapid, we will still have a couple of turns to negotiate on Kaflenge. squee, you are absolutely right- I was not speaking from a position of knowledge. For me, Javat shouldn't lay claim to Galantia. My fellow Javatians should agree with my comments above though. FYI, I will be traveling in a couple of days time, for a week. I will not be able to spend too much time in the forum so will rely heavily on the sound judgement of Brutus Aurelius and LordofSynThe Cat I believe, after further review (and finally understanding the maps further)...that this is indeed the best course of action for Javat to follow. I'll do my best to Assist @brutus in SlayerNZ's absence.

Brutus AureliusOkay - so we push for the planets (in any particular order?) ... We research Politics then Planetary production - or is it production first? I think we've scouted what we need to scout for now. Building - colony ship then mine (unless our population has grown) ...

slayernzWe push for Baza first. It is close by, and the other factions will soon colonize around it, giving it safety. Politics, then Planetary Construction.

Brutus Aurelius and LordofSynHouse Thulun have asked us to consider the following Note for consideration of both my fellow Esteemed Nobles of Great House Thulun and the Javati ambassadors, perhaps a better bargaining position is if Javat were to support Thulun claiming Rift Trade World in exchange for our support of their claims on Kaflange. I haven't had a chance to study the star charts - and am out of pocket from this evening onwards, so please review and decide whether it makes sense to back Thulun or not. Also check with Steel Song to see if they have any counter-claims on Rift Trading World.

In light of recent growth, I vote to upgrading/building hab units in our systems. We may also need to consider building fighters for defense and recruiting the most gifted pilots to man them.

I can see Aurelius Prime needs to get itself set up - the hab units will be welcome relief for our citizens. For Javat Prime, we are in a fantastic position - I'm just hanging out for Mines 2 in order to make the most out of our great resources. In the meantime, we can upgrade a hab unit or 2 with Hab 2's. Mines 2 will be put on the back burner until we get decent space research completed - curse that Alien menace for appearing too early. I agree with LordofSyn in that we should consider building up a couple of fighters. Those fighters can be used for Javat defense, but can also rally to the Alliance flag as necessary.

I also want to vote against any faction starting any new colonies - until we have gotten ourselves in a position where we can go on the attack with the Aliens, we need to focus on building up the war chest (and ships).
We're running a very healthy economy right now - and if we get ship tech researched quickly, we'll be able to go back to expansion plans before we know it.
Finally - let's not go aggressive against the Aliens. If they invade, we will kill them, but let's not provoke.

I agree, we need a strategy of defense for now. We lack the methods of effective planetary deployment, and so only ship to ship combat is viable. We must gather more funds from our mines and build new ships to defend us.

Clan Javat, might I suggest the possibility of producing at least a small military of your own? Currently the other houses each posses military ships, yet Javat has no presence in the void. It might give your clan some political clout if you had your own military might to contribute to the Empire's needs?

johndramey, LordofSyn has already wisely suggested this course of action, and I agreed. Javat Prime seems to be the best candidate for generating warcraft. Aurelius Prime needs to get some further infrastructure before it can start producing anything of meaningful quantities.

Very good, and my apologies for missing Delegate LordofSyn's suggestion. I would recommend submitting a specific request for whatever military assets you wish with your formal vote. I will, of course, oversee any construction efforts personally. I, as arbiter of the Council, generally do not get involved with the day to day operations of individual houses. However, I feel it is best to keep a balanced Council. I think you would agree that a stable Council will lead to a stable Empire.

Agreed oh Voice of the Consensus. I would like to think that Javat has been consistently the most stable and balanced of all of the houses here ... we will maintain the peace through diplomacy, but if that fails, we have claws!
