Has anyone seen any of the Street Fighter animé? Street Fighter Alpha was rather excellent. There's a recent Street Fighter live action film as well... A proper Japanese one. Can't remember the subtitle of the film. Looks decent from the snippets. At least Hollywood haven't gotten a hold of it. We'd probably have random Australian pop artists as hardcore British agents, or Gomez Addams with Super-[Bob Hoskins]-Mario flying boots on. Guile would be addicted to Belgian chocolate and Brussels Sprouts, Blanka would just be some crazy thin dude painted green and that would just be GAAAAME... ...OVERRRRRRRR for me.

I saw one of the anime versions of Street Fighter. There were a few parts of the movie you refer to that I did enjoy. My favorite is "quick! change the channel", if you've seen the movie, you'll know what I talking about. Hollywood has just been to greedy in their rush to make movies based off good video games. I liked the choice of actors\actresses for the film, I think there was just too much lack of a polished script and failed directing. Some scenes were just over the top with trying too hard to be funny or action oriented. The director, producer, some one should have said "Stop! We need to do this differently." I seen a lot of good video game and comic franchises get ruined because Hollywood just cared about the money and not being true to the things they were adapting for the big screen. A good example is the Alien VS Predator movies. They would have been so much better if the timing wasn't so rushed. The Aliens don't grow as fast as they were when compared to the original Alien movies. The Predators either live really close to us, or have the fastest Warp Drives\FTL in sci fi history. How the hell one got from their home planet to ours in just a few hours boggles my mind. And I love a good sci fi film, the thing is, it has to be believable. The timing in these films was off and wrong and just ruined it. Not bad acting or directing. Not a lack of a good story or plot. Just plain old bad timing.

ntsheep- Weren't the predator ships already in the area? If I remember correctly the whole concept was a tournament where the predators would send their best warriors to do battle... If so it seems plausible that there would be a large fleet on standby to glass the planet.

In the first film, yes, the Predator ship was already in orbit. The second film shows that ship leaving our solar system, a smaller ship detaches from it heading back towards Earth. It crashes because of the Pred-Alien hybrid. A distress signal is sent to a planet we are lead to believe is the Predators home planet. Yet the timing in the film suggest it was only a few hours for it to travel here. For me it just didn't seem real or probable that could happen.

Can't remember the subtitle of the film. I own the 3 Street Fighter animé + the recent live action movie (Assassins Fist). Iove them to bits! Assassins Fist was surprisenly well done, with the small budget they had for their web series. I look foward to the sequel.
