Arg. I had this great idea of Star Traders last night while falling asleep and then I forgot what it was. Does anyone remember?
It had something to do with Explorers.

Cory TreseJust try and think of your train of thought when you came up with the idea while laying in bed again. That might help. If not, then don't focus on it and let your subconscious figure it out. It's probably somewhere in your short term memory.

Explorers ... I have to do something awesome for the players ... they are so great ... but it has to be balanced ... fun, but not over powered ... something that adds a new dimension to explorers ... probably not related to Exploring directly ... no, not that, or that, definitely not that ... wait a second ... ... YES! =)

It's Wormholes that go directly in the middle of the Xeno base. They then get aggressive.

Hearing that Cory Trese needed a ride, the Derail Express comes flying shooting torps to distract everyone. Ntsheep hops out and grabs the dev and throws him on, "Next stop Coffeetopia, and then the torp war for a game of catch!" The Derail Express disappears leaving a holo torp showing a sheep with a big grin and the wool shaved off its rear

ARG I generally keep a notebook or pad near my bed for precisely this reason (I assume rabidbite does too). I'd suggest listening to music you love and working on something else entirely-- get into either the song (and we want pics of you head banging!) or the rhythym of coding and it will find its way back to you. You came up with the idea because it seemed like a good one, if it's really worth looking into, it will come to your mind again and nag you.

I think what you are trying to say is that you keep a handy way to write your ideas? If that's the case, then yes. I do too. My cellphone has a text/audio function and if I'm driving around and see something or hear something that could be adapted to a story, I write it down or do a voice recording. At night, I have my laptop handy at all times. I am not a big believer in iPads, Galaxy pads and all that jazz. Too limited as to what I can achieve with them. They are very VERY expensive, have no keyboards so its all 'finger press' dumbness, have problems with Adobe, need to be occasionally connected to computers for their other features, displays get dirtier as you have to touch them, have a ton of DRM stuffed into them, fixing these proprietary devices is a pain in the arse, if not using Wifi networking is limited to a crappy little cable that can break easily, etc... A simple, old school laptop has SO much more to offer. (pats my trusty ugly laptop with its external harddrive backup). I don't see why people go gaga over pads unless they want to draw. rabid

Actually, I meant paper notebooks and pads. I hate waiting on electronics to boot up when I just want to jot something down before I forget, the big blank page of a Word document and the bright lights at night when I'm most likely to get a headache from it.
