Word up y'all! Another day, another question from a n00bie.
Having ground enough xenos to afford a Hydra or a Neptune both honor-wise and prestige-wise, I was unable to. I wager that it is NOT due to my playing on Free because the recruit button just stays grayed out - if, say, I go to the armory and wanna buy a piece of gear that is Elite only, the button works, spitting out the "Elite only" message.
So, is this a bug or are there some recruitment rules neither the game nor the manual says anything of?
Game is 2.1.5, the squad is Tutorial on Normal Honor is 3000 something, total prestige is 223, thereof 173 Squad and 50 Campaign prestige, I have tried recruiting in all Free campaigns; Scout or Soldier recruitment is still available.
Have a day

Isn't this an awesome game? I think you need to finish the tutorial to access the guys you're after. I can't be completely sure, because I bought my prestige. Keep stomping xenos.

Blunt Eversmoke - it is not expressed clearly in the UI, but recruiting Neptune, Berserk & Hydras is Elite Only.

Blunt Eversmoke unfortunately as fallen said, it's an Elite only upgrade. However, the GOOD news is that if you do take the leap to Elite, then you can import your Free captains over to Elite and carry the whole Prestige and gear and everything with them. Elite is well worth the money, and you'll have so much fun with some of the bigger Elite only campaigns!

Ah, I see. Well, I would have bought Elite two weeks ago (at 3 bucks the price is hardly ruinous) if i were not UTTERLY, completely dry - as I said, it's until pay which is mid-month, so I'll just have to wait. Or - wait, now the "Answer stupid questions, support our developers!" motto makes mucho senza to me, gotta see if I can collect the bucks at work that way Thanks everyone!

Tell me If you upgrade. I'm curious where all that pent up anger with the xenos takes you.

I think of the xenos as being part of the steel song fashionistas , their more beautiful citizens so to speak. When killing xenos, making it personal is best ...

I prefer to give real cash to Trese. Blunt Eversmoke how did you discover Templar, and therefore the Trese Brothers community? For our revenue, your money, Google credits or gift cards -- it all buys coffee and keyboard time the same way.

I prefer to give real cash to Trese. Blunt Eversmoke how did you discover Templar, and therefore the Trese Brothers community? Well, I have searched g3wgle games for squad sims with a modern, post-apocalyptic or sci-fi setting and RPG elements(or full-blown squad RPGs), preferrably turn-based, preferrably low on graphics so that they don't eat up the battery charge so fast and without the need to connect to the Internet all the time, and with the possibility to try out for free before I buy. Not really much to choose from, here Right now, it's pretty much CK and TA, and that's it. Not that I were against fantasy, though - it's just that I am way spoiled by the gameplay and setting of the Exile/Avernum series by Spiderweb and Spirit Engine by Natomic Studios, so I am a bit wary to try other fantasy games. However, having played the Tresenian CK and TA, I am considering re-thinking my reservations and trying out HOS, as well

I prefer to give real cash to Trese. Blunt Eversmoke how did you discover Templar, and therefore the Trese Brothers community? Just to clarify - if you use the Google Rewards app to get credit, and you spend that money on TB games (please do ) we still get the $$$.

Blunt Eversmoke : I strongly recommend HoS. TB are always making great game with depth in it. HoS is a perfect example. And, as you mentioned, you can try it for free. Give it a try and you'll get hooked
