Okay, so here I am crying into my mug of spiced tea, mourning the loss of yet another captain whose promising career was cut brutally short at the hands...er tentacles... of the Alien Menace. I mean I was just minding my own business, heading to Corelloth, not hurting anyone (well not anyone that didn't deserve it) when 'BAM' out of the black comes this big bug looking thing with what looks like two "Mad Rabbit" chainsaws on the front. Out classed and out gunned. No chance to run. Well what other choice is there? Cue up "Flight of the Valkyries", its time to attack. And...game over. Roll up another captain.
So I'm wondering, these are the same aliens that we fought after settling in this quadrant, right? It seems I remember that they were easier to kill, or at least easier to get away from, when I played Empires in Exile (now mind you I haven't played ST4x alot and never against the Dark Terrox. Oh no. Not them. Never them.). But what happened in the following years? Did the aliens get tougher or what?
How about a little something to even the odds? Or at least give us a chance to escape hmmm? Or some long range scanners that gives us a heads up so we can maybe avoid the alien menace if we want to.... Something. Anything. Just a fighting chance. Or at least a living chance. Please?

Chance : here are my advices. Up your stealth. Start any fight with alien by torping them at long range (since if you hit them your next action will be a nearly automatic success) and then retreat. Aliens are monsters you don't want to board until you are a hell of boarding captain with a lot in warrior and a mercenary crew with a lot of weapons... Hope that helps.

Ah, I enjoyed reading this. You should create a thread in the captain's log Chance. ST is a pretty stark RPG. Trese Bros wants the Alien to take you out. That way you'll try a new character build. A masterpiece of a game. The only way to truly survive them is consider them in every character build you do.

I don't mind trying new character builds, I've started alot of new captains trying to figure out the game. Most of the time they die from my own stupidity. But once in a while I get a captain that is doing good and going to be successful, and those bothersome aliens have to come and ruin the party. I guess maybe its time to try an alien hunter...
