I spent all those turns to get the reichart anti spy war treaty, and for what? For the war to end naturally 2 turns later. Stupid factions . . . lol

A couple of things....
Are spy wars such a problem for you ? I have 3 of them happening currently on one of my games (the 112 worlds map) and the research boost from them combined is wonderful! And the decrease in colony profits is close to negligible for that game. On my phone game, which is one of the Delga maps, I have 2 spy wars going, and while it was slightly annoying for the hit to income when I only had 6 colonies, however now that that game just doubled (just colonized 6 worlds over 6 turns) the income penalty is nothing compared to the boost in research that I am experiencing.
Another thing. When you put a treaty into progress, that treaty has a chance to trigger its resolution on any turn while it is in progress. On my tablet's game (112 worlds) I have just put that treaty into progress and on the following, and it ended 2 of the 3 spy wars on consecutive turns, on the 3rd turn it claimed that the treaty was unsuccessful. I intend to put it in progress again while I wait the 2 remaining turns I need to finish the Spice Treaty in research. (To note: this game has 27 colonies with another 6 colony ships being built... As it stands I generate 103 EP with 186 RP per turn)

This game was, at the time, fairly early on (only year 2), and the spy war was costing me 500 credits per turn, which again being early on was roughly 1/3 of my income. This game is also being a tight one, I have had very few good rolls on planet colonies, so my income potential is relatively low (for my standards) compared to other games.
I found the situation humorous, and was merely sharing.

If you paid Credits for the Treaty, you get a pro-rated refund if you Abort it.

I had a game going where I had at least one solar war going on for something crazy like 100 turns. Non of my diplomacy would work, either. Stupid factions, why can't you work together against the xeno! This game really is the perfect real-world-politics simulator, Cory Trese.

Apparently my factions in that game are very untrusting, haha! its not that they dont trust each other... they want each the other's goodies!!! I have noticed that I get fewer Trade and Solar wars with a mixed setup instead of a stock all 3 being clan or syndacate. And those tend to happen between those that are either clan or syndacate...with it being pretty rare (in my experience so far) affecting or containing the "outsider group". I tend to use Javat, Cadar, and Rychart the most and this setup is pretty nice all told on the higher difficulty settings. In 3 games, all progress around year 6 (300ish turns, though one i stopped playing after containing the AI to 2 worlds in the corner) there has onlky been 1 single Solar War between clan Javat and Cadar.... butthen again i did accidentally leave 2 Javat colony ships sitting in Cadar territory with no treaty in progress and 3 ongoing Spy Battles...though the Solar war killed the spy fight between javat and cadar.... which ended 2 turns later with increased Xeno activity... i think i might be lucky!
