This discussion began in another thread. I'm trying to move the discussion to this more appropriately named/located thread. Here's a summary of discussion to date.
abysmal observed that stealth would be more valuable if one could locate the enemies you were ambushing and that using AP on Sly Look was sketchy at best. Several of us chimed in at different points agreeing with the general sentiment.
Cory Trese, made the points that:
--adjustments would have to be balance "...to not nerf or OP builds."
--a reasonable number of people leveling-up Farsight/SlyLook (FarLook).
--"One possible option is to reduce the AP cost of that Talent during Stealth actions."
plunk suggested that experience players--like those on this board--might provide better info on the utility of Talents, than raw stats which include a lot of beginning players.
xdesperado "[Training] points put into these non combat talents [e.g., FarLook] are points unavailable for talents that could be key to keeping the character alive and combat effective."
beuns, "An option to help locate enemies in the surprise round (if won of course) could be to show what the character heard with a little wave (think x-com: enemy unknown)."
I like winning stealth providing you with some indication of the location of the enemy when they are not immediately visible; presumably if you won stealth you heard them and this would often provide a sense of their location, but NOT precise location.
I rarely use Farsight. Only when Vraes and Kyera have used most of their AP--around 5--and not found the enemy. In that situation, Farsight allows me to position inteligently prior to ending my turn. If Farsight cost less AP upon winning stealth, I'd probably use it a bit more, but not invest Talent Points in FarLook.
