Okay okay ... here's my flash of a thought, and perhaps it means the game suddenly becomes unbalanced, but but but. .. wouldn't it be COOL if you got level 1 of each spell/talent when it became available? That means you get a bunch of talents straight away (at level 1), and at level 3, you get another talent or two - then level 6, level 12, level 18 ... This shouldn't make the game too unbalanced because you are only getting level 1. It's not like you're getting super-powered spells all of a sudden. It would, however, allow you to begin to experiment with options you hadn't considered, and ultimately start investing talent points into areas that you begin to find work for you. Yes, it means that at some levels (eg level 3), you are getting the equivalent of a free Talent point, but it's again, something that may help the game open up even more That's my thought - I'll go back to my cave now

It's an interesting idea but the build system was built around a principal of default exclusion. Switching to default inclusion is, at this point, impossible.

When Gods walk like mortals, nothing is impossible. Having to invest a precious point to just get a skill is part of balancing that skill but it would be nice.... While we're dreaming, can the party get a mount to ride? Maybe a tamed giant rat.

vdx - Heroes does not include mounts or creatures that are larger than one square. Those stretch goals were not achieved. We won't be making any major changes to how the Talent leveling system works. Thanks!

Fyona can ride on the shoulders of Kincaid ... I think he'd actually like that
