To encourage new members to join in sponsoring us, we've just re-organized the reward structure to make the lower value pledges more valuable! The most notable changes include reducing the reward for viewing the Exclusive Art Stream to $10 a month, and adding a $2 voting rights reward that will grant you access to monthly polls we will post for Patreon users. In these polls, you'll be asked to pick among a list of characters, game systems, and other game parts that you want to see revamped with art or improved in game play. Awesome new Avatar. Do you have the old one somewhere we can archive it? Certainly.  It was time for a change, and the Patreon site, when listing all the patrons clips the avatar images so you lose the bottom 20% of the image, or so. Since I had already cropped the clothes wearing badger for the site, it ended up looking pretty silly. So I decided to move to somthing that could lose the bottom of the image more gracefully. And, yes, I reported the problem to Patreon. |

More specifically, you can look for the [ Patron ] badge on a forum member's account. You'll see it right above your profile pic, and in grävling's badge as well. I'm not seeing it. And, Goodness, things are getting crowded there. Maybe we need icons instead of words? |

grävling - sorry about that, now badged! I wish we could use icons, but it isn't something we can support in ProBoards at this time. I keep looking for a way.

Think some sort of Icons might be the way to go.
Perhaps clickable so new members can click on them to see what each one means.
Sword = HoS
Sailboat = AoP
Starship = ST2
Colony Ship = 4X
Gold Coins = Patron
Gold Star = Elite
etc.

xdesperado - I'll keep looking into it. Maybe with some JavaScript I could get it setup, but I hate the idea of running JS whenever a thread loads.

I think that this should be a plugin. And I think that this: support.proboards.com/board/36/request-plugin is where you go to ask for a plugin that isn't already available. After just having read every plugin there is, from www.proboards.com/library/plugins?page=25I think that adding this should be fairly straight-forward. And there seems to be a person there who likes making plugins for others, so if you posted a request, perhaps somebody else would do the work, for fun. Or would you like me to write up a plugin request and post it there? Because you are a busy guy, as we all know. Also I think that Star Traders 2 & Patron & whatever & whatever else is the wrong order. You want Patron first. Because Patron is not the name of yet another TB game, and it is something that new members can do _now_, while the other badges are for things that members already did in the past -- and if you weren't around at the time, then you missed out and there is nothing you can do about it now. I forget what I did to get Elite. Sent you money once? Is it also something that people can do now? Or is it something that should be retired now that we have the whole Patreon thing? It occurs to me that replacing the word 'Patron' with 'Patreon' might be a good idea. If people ask 'What is a Patreon?' -- that is a good thing. And Google will be their friend in this. |
