If the player has reached the camp grounds or an exit then there should be an option for players to instantly rest wherever they are outside of battle. Since all they need to do is retrace their steps to the campground then go back the same way to where they originally were.
Same logic for exits if they reached an exit then they should be able to warp to that exit instantly.
Obviously if stuff happens like the map repopulating encounters then all these features are immediately deactivated and players have to reactivate them.

A simple warp to last camp would be a huge time saver for players and definitely reduce tedium in the game. Especially if the player uses a group requiring frequent rests. Some of the maps are very large and having to repeatedly guide the party through several waypoints to reach the last camp/entrance to map so they can rest then go back to point of progress can quickly turn into drudgery.

If there was a "simple warp to last camp" we'd definitely already have it in the game.
Thanks for the feedback. We are constantly working to improve given our budget and resources.
If this feature becomes available, you'll be the first to know!

If this feature becomes available, you'll be the first to know! Restoring warps you back. Recently, I got into a fight with those stone trolls on the bridge on the way to Darkmoss Forest, got killed instantly, couldn't bear dying ten more times, Restored, and ended up in Baron Arhaive/Giova's throne room.

FWIW, I actually like that you have to make a long trek back to rest. It forces you to push on and take risks that you would never take if you could automatically rest and recharge after every battle. Think about it -- instant resting means that you are basically going into every single battle at full strength. A big part of the fun and challenge for me is worrying about whether I have enough SP potions (it's always SP pots) to make it through the next battle and whether it's ok to leave Vraes at 80% health so I don't waste the SP for the healing spell.

If we were average mobile developers, we'd sell 10 Warp Coins for $1 which would let you return immediately to the nearest town. Once you were out of coins, you could just buy more =) Thanks for the feedback and input mrsarfa. There are many valid perspectives on this part of the design, and it is fun to take input from all players on the forum and over e-mail and consider them for this game and future efforts.

Except it "forces" you to do this because you don't want to be inconvenienced watching the characters slowly walk back to the campsite, possibly clicking multiple times because pathfinding has a limited range, and then walking back to where you were.
Getting back to a rest stop takes zero skill, poses zero threat and only tires the player's patience.
If the game wanted to force consecutive battles without resting, then it should just do that upfront

I'm not sure I want instant recover. Takes away from the entire point of having to plan a group that can go multiple fights before needing to camp.

@hillsbororo - it is not a feature we will be adding to Heroes of Steel as far as I can see. Perhaps something we can plan for in future games, and make that more actively part of the design / balance.

Except there is no actual drawback to camping other than wasting time. A player can just keep camping inbetween battles without losing anything.

Well if you are trying to optimize score camping ( I think ~-1K per camp) and retracing your steps will lower it. I think it will be very interesting once the ladderboards become more mature to see what strategies people use to eek out a slightly higher score. mrsarfa I feel the same way.
