Should we distribute Cyber Knights RPG Free on Amazon? - Updates will lag slightly behind
- Amazon requires an account for free games
- Amazon might cause trouble / many poor reviews
What say you, Knights of New Boston?

Cory, Recently I read an article about Amazon's app store and my conclusion was that no sane dev would opt for that.
If you want another distribution channel try Opera's mobile store

We know who you are, we know where to find you and we like our many many updates. Up Amazon's keester. Stick with the ap deliveries that cater to the dev's. We'll get the word out.

No give the option for the free version if you can but still charge for it maybe since the updates are behind leave the price at 2 dollars instead of 3 if you do amazon look at there monthly sales figures for android games to get an idea of whether or not it's worth it.
Want some extra money port it to a pc game and post it on the web then u won't owe google for those copies you sell then if u still want more when the games in it's final phases think about porting it to xbox if u know C sharp and I Phone if ya want I don't know what language they use but I read some articles saying there market is huge well over 10 times the size of androids but more streamlined where as android is for new devs XD
just some of my personal marketing thoughts

Having worked for Amazon, I can safely assure you that they will not do good things for you unless you work for a large game studio/publisher. Plus, other corporate avenues will likely not want to distribute if they know that you are already distributing with Amazon.

Wow after reading the two articles from manux & Cory it is amazing what you have to go thru. I'm so glad that I've done all my buying from the Android Market.
So to answer your question. I say NO skip amazon & stick with android market.
"Knights of New Boston"
I like that.... thanks Cory

I already went ahead and purchased elite on Market... however after applying our crafty market fix(to get more apps to show on unofficially supported devices, in my case my Viewsonic gTablet) the damnedable app no longer showed up under my purchased apps(it did before the market "fix" however -- bunch of other paid apps disappeared as wel).
Yep, I went ahead and got my gTab back up again, went more smoothly than I had been anticipating. Nothin that's fixable by anyone I think as far as the disappearing apps go... (The fix involves downloading something in the market to generate a cache, going to applications clearing cache on market then FCing it followed by going to Google Services Framework clearing data and FCing it. Then you try market get error(if not repeat prior steps until you get error), reboot, run marke voila more apps showing(not all but a helluvalot more than before).

cutterjohn - we had some issues yesterday with the Google Market declaring us unfit for 99% of the world-wide devices (only 8 allowed)... on my phone, I also dropped from the My Apps list. But I am back today, hopefully the good carries on!

But I am back today, hopefully the good carries on! Thanks for the resp. Good to know that it's likely Google messing with the market again as with the "new" Market I can click on app sthat aren't installed(and offered) and NOT get the install button... I'll have to check my phone later(still hadn't been offered the "new" market as of yesterday) and my NC(CM7 nightlies via uSD boot)... Now back to... hmmm.... what was that topic again? Oh yeah! CK free on Amazon...

I have no comment on Amazon, as I've never offered anything through them before, but you certainly should not be giving away your product for free except as a trial version.
