What if it malfunctioned. Do you really want to worry about who your dog is after nano-armor?
In the pen and paper edition of CK, Nano-armor is really quiet terrifying ... causes permanent DV loss, mutations.

Well it depends on wether you want your dog to walk around with a second head or not. Although, a second wouldn't be that bad because that means your dog has twice the biting power.

Then again, laughing soldiers are less likely to dodge shotgun rounds...

But then you can give it loads of jaw enhancements! With enough AP you could get crushing electric four-a-round super attacks! Then again…

What if it malfunctioned. Do you really want to worry about who your dog is after nano-armor? In the pen and paper edition of CK, Nano-armor is really quiet terrifying ... causes permanent DV loss, mutations. Could you possibly give us some details? In the pen and paper game, uses of nano-armor are not trusted by even their heavily cybered friends. Most nano-ready armor is constructed using recycled or harvested medi-nano, and it's always effective. In the pen and paper game, activating nano-armor has a 10% chance of immediately and permanently killing you. In this case, there are legends of "nano-zombies" which are basically brain-dead humans being operated by the nano-network deployed by the armor. There are several stories in CK where this creature attacked nearby team members or even attempted to carry on some ghoulish impersonation of the character for a short time. As the character's body and system are terribly weak, or nearly dead, the nano system has the ability to overwhelm or deeply integrate with the human -- this can cause death (as above) but more likely causes permanent neurological or physical changes. Using nano-armor requires the character to roll (and play to gain experience) a new Flaw -- could be anything from Hyperviolent to Glitched, or even pure psychological impacts like Paranoia. There are also possible impacts on cyberware, so the more augmented a character is the more likely that their will be serious impacts to the DV or the implants.

Wow. A lot of it makes sense though, even in a real world setting. The nano armor has to integrate deep into your system to save your life, and its systems' primary objective is to keep you functioning.

In the pen and paper game, ... Hold it. Hold it. Hoooooold it. Pen and paper game? Most of our games are either direct descendants, or perspectives on, our pen and paper games. Cyber Knights has been played a number of different systems, most notably our World's Edge rules. It's a setting we've used a lot. I like the cyberpunk.

(O.O) Cory Trese, have you any plans to publish, either as a standalone game or a sourcebook? I know a lot of geezersfolks who tabletop. Edit: I just found your World's Edge site and signed up for the mailing list. Did the release ever happen, or did the forces of Development Hell strike?

Cory says he keeps trying to talk Andrew into it. I think World's Edge may also have needed to do better in this poll. startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/3522
