Hi,
does anyone have an close enough estimation on the recovery turns roll after combat ends on nightmare mode?
id like to plan ahead how many skill points are needed to ensure buffs actually last into the second fight as I progress into the game. Or at least to find out if that is not feasible.
as of now, I'd seen 6-8 turns of recovery. If the mean number is around 10 then even assigning 10 skill points to most buff talent skill will scarcely be enough to carry the buffs over to the next fight. Assuming on average most combat last 5-8 turns.

rygar - Normal = 2, Hard = 4, Brutal = 6, Nightmare = 8

I would not bother putting points into skills that extend buffs on nightmare until you have maxed out the main weapon/attack skill of the character in question. Its a bit different if you have a dedicated conjurer build going on the wizard/sorcer then you get the benefit of having buff/curse length extended and max# of targets increased

On Normal and Hard, extending buffs for 2 or so fights can be helpful. Heck, you can get buffs to last 3 or 4 quick fights. Saves on SP.
On Brutal and Nightmare, it takes too much investment to ensure buffs last through two complete fights. Fights tend to be longer and the end-of-fight penalty is steep.
Better use of improvement points is main attack talent or increasing the power of the main defense buff, rather than merely increasing duration. It doesn't matter if the buff lasts 12 rounds if you die in two.
Also, using tombs and incantations of sustainment takes a lot of pressure of re-casting buffs.

Vdx and Gundamgoth - yea fully agree on saving skill points on high priority skills to hit well and defend well on nightmare.initially I was looking at option on extending the buff duration as viable means to get more out of sp needed. Have since established that it's not that viable on nightmare.I'm glad I asked at early stage of my play through and have not sunk in the many points yet. Thanks fallen for quick reply .
Fallen - that sounds like a an early hint on the next content update. I take it that the new episode is around the corner ? Hah

Press the 4 squares to the lower right of the character portrait and a bar will appear. At the extreme right of that bar is an auto buff button. It will cast every buff you can cast on everyone that you can cast it on (a word of caution when using this, it pays no mind to the buffs you currently have on. Also it will blanket everyone with the buff so if Kincaid has 2 leadership and flanking unity which can only affect 3 targets at that leadership level then he will cast it twice to affect all 4 heroes every time you auto buff).

OMG, found it. Thanks! Any other UI secrets that is easy to miss?

I think this will save about 20 percent of my playtime - honest God! Although now I will be even more starved for SP

Hmm not that I can think of. If you use an AoE heal it will affect everyone automatically if you are glommed. No need to arrange them in the cross pattern. On the character summary screen there is a button to the bottom right that will tell you all buffs and curses on your character, good for knowing what certain curses do.

I did see the effects section on your character screen. I can't believe how fast my game is going with the auto-buff thing. Thanks so much, everyone!

Glommed = all your characters put together. It happens automatically now. You can unglom and reglom by pressing the 3 people icon on the upper left of the character portrait.
