Game crashes as soon as I try to boot up my character (as in Continue Game). The second time I actually got to see my ship before it crashed. Amazon keeps telling me to reinstall the game. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Pretty much. Not the first time it happened either. I don't even think Amazon sends crash reports. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

What do you mean "Amazon keeps telling" -- did you contact support?

Elite Andoird Motorola Razr An info box appears when it crashes telling me to download the game again from the store, which would require me to reinstall as Amazon's store doesn't have a simple redownload button.

If you have to re-install, it is probably a bug in Amazon's App Store installer, I've worked through this with other users. Sometimes the App Store installer corrupts the APK when it is writing it out to the OS. In this case, what we have done is used Helium to backup the files, re-installed, and then restored the saves. www.tresebrothers.com/transfer-saved-games-between-devices/

O.o The mystery knows no bounds!

Resurrecting an ancient thread to let Cory Trese and fallen know that I think I figured it out. Many, MANY Google searches for an answer on why Amazon likes to lock me out of my games eventually led me to some old forum posts about DRM on Amazon. From what little info is available on it, Amazon performs DRM checks the next time you open an app after an update. So if an update drops this morning on Amazon (which it did for a few of my Trese Bro games), the game has to check back with the AppStore to make sure I legally own the game before it allows me to play. That in itself isn't a problem. Unfortunately, the DRM only checks my gaming license over Wi-Fi. As I tend to update on-the-go or just before leaving a Wi-Fi area so I can play with the latest goodies later, I often fail the DRM check. God knows why, but Amazon doesn't allow this check to be performed over mobile data, which is decidedly odd for an app store that allows apps to be downloaded to multiple devices (including 3G Kindles, I recall). Of course, Amazon AppStore users are free to test this theory (its the only explanation I could find that made sense and worked) by updating and turning off the Wi-Fi before playing an app. Try to actually do something in a game as the DRM check is sometimes delayed in CyberKnights, for example by allowing access to a character and moving three or so squares before booting me out. If this is right, a message should pop-up saying that "Unknown Error: You do not own this app.". Turn your Wi-Fi on and you should have no problems moving, and after you can confirm no message pops up after a little gameplay you can disable your Wi-Fi without any additional DRM checks. Again, I wanted to make a full explanation here as it took me a ridiculously long time to find an answer to this problem, and this is a problem that affects not just Trese Bros Games but other games as well-- Trese Bros just updates their games more than most. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) I hope this helps some frustrated souls out there play the games they actually bought without issues. Happy gaming! -Officer Genious
