Very excited to hear feedback about monsters -- especially if you can share your characters and difficulty settings.

Nightmare Ironman - K, KJ, F, S
The 320 heal + summon necessitates both immediate attention and focused damage. It was manageable in the encounter I had, but it might be extremely difficult to overcome if the Necromancer attacks in a bigger group (he had several dire hounds with him). Plus, reducing his AP to 1 doesn't stop him from healing or summoning, which means the only way to stop him is to focus him down ASAP.

Some further thoughts, I'm running two dedicated tanks in Fyona and Kincaid, so I was able to juggle the adds, but a group with a less sturdy 'off-tank' might have serious issues with the Necromancer and Ghoul Lord. I'll offer more thoughts as I experience more encounters with them. It was a fun, tense fight, and that's what I love about this game. One needs to be ever vigilant, it feels like a high level chess match with a dash of chaos and randomness due to die rolls.

Zhivago - glad to hear they're keeping you on your toes. Ghoul Lords can actually be the worst ... they have a bigger range heal. I've seen him camp next to a Spectre Lord and heal every turn and it makes the pair so hard to kill!

Sounds like I'll be needing some points into Piety Ward, eh?

I don't think I've seen that particular combo just yet, thankfully!

Yeah, enjoying the new monster types. So far they haven't been too bad, but I've only gotten to the first meeting with Nikolai now. I'm playing on Nightmare with the White Lights who are a fairly massive damage dealers. The first Necropants didn't even get to show his stuff before Vincent set 'im a twitching and Kyera Banished him. It's really fun to finally have Kyera come on-line as a damage dealer with this group. With Banishment at 4, Holy Gear and the 9 hex AoE she can be impressive. I have found the Ghoul Lords to be tougher, but still not too bad. I'm not looking forward to them combining up though. Sounds like I'll be encountering a Wraith before too long. Should be interesting.
One question, can Spirit drain cause death? It's talked about as them draining the life out of person. It would definitely change my tactics if they could put you in - spirit land and kill you.

contributor - specters of all kind deal Death damage. It is discussed in the war camps of Braeys and Koda and clearly mentioned that it drains SP. The -X you see above the attacker is the SP drained from your character.

Yeah, I know that, I was just wondering if there were negative implications for them dropping you below 0 SP. I haven't had that happen yet.
BTW does anyone else find Specters to be kind of cute?

Very excited to hear feedback about monsters -- especially if you can share your characters and difficulty settings. Well I met the Wraith and he went down pretty easy too. That fight got only a little dicey with mobs coming from both sides and nowhere to go. I've got a pretty wimpy Vincent so he has to stay out of the way, But Selen charged one way and Vraes the other while Kyera provided mob suppression and Vincent lit up everything that got close to him or bunched up nicely for his Lightening Spear. They're playing on Nightmare difficulty and haven't had a death since a fairly random one killing Vlotgar Putin. They're really coming into their own now. Being able to drop massive amounts of damage has been a big plus in these levels as even the Wraith only stood for 3 turns and everything near him died much faster. These levels could be much more difficult if you can't bring down the big guys faster. They could turn into some massive SP eating slug it outs. I'm finding the towers to be interesting for their range and the fact that they never move.
