I'm sure it's obvious, but I don't know how to complete the very first contract. I am at the proper location. When I look at the contract, it say the destination is 0AU away. The contract screen has options of back, void, and nav. How do I complete a contract?

You don't go to the contract screen you go to the planet

What does the contract screen say the contract is? You may have to go to the star dock, the planets surface, or hit the patrol button if you've been brought to space. The button you have to press is generally highlighted orange I think.

You want to land on the planet for this contract- when you're at the right square on the big map, one of the options on the bottom of your screen will turn red. In this case, it'll be the one with buildings on it (land in city). The building for the contract will be mentioned in the contract and highlighted with a small red border (but this red border can also mean "You have no rations and should buy more", or "Hope the crew gets drunk enough to forget about trying to kill you via mutiny". Ergo, I suggest checking your contract. Remember, completing a contract will kick you back to orbit, so if you have 5+ weeks left on your contract I'd do my shopping and boozing before finishing the job!

The contract screen has options of back, void, and nav. How do I complete a contract? Hey silentbreach and welcome to the forum!!! Getting your first contract sorted is pretty straight forward. When you are at your destination (0au away), you'll be over top of a planet. Land in the Urban area of the planet, then go visit the Palace. That should be enough for you to be asked if you want to complete the contract. Say Yes and you're done. Say No if you want to do something else on the planet first (eg buying more water-fuel for your space craft). Completing the contract gives you a little money, and also gives you some XP. However, as with ALL contracts, you'll find yourself back in orbit again after contract completion. That means if you are low on fuel (or have no fuel), then your crew morale could drop while you attempt a landing. Good luck and let us know if there are any other things you need help on. |
