En1gma ntsheep wascalwywabbit xdesperado Alright, time to discuss what system we want to use! I have PDFs in my Google Drive for D&D 3.5 and 5e, Stars Without Number, and a few WH40k RPGs, if anyone is interested in those. IMO 5e is easier to learn than 3.5, especially if you are already familiar with D&D. Stars Without Number seems to be pretty good, not a huge amount of things to roll for to generate characters, but it is a pretty cool sandbox space opera. WH40k tends to run a bit more complex and is a bit harder to pick up. I could probably get my hands on Rouge Trader if we want to do space opera in that setting, otherwise I have Only War, Dark Heresy, Black Crusade and Deathwatch. I also have Star Wars Edge of the Empire. If we all agree on something else, I'll head over to /tg/ and see if anyone can give me the PDFs.

Awesome! I'm not very familiar with too many of these, but I'm good with whatever everyone wants to do. I'm in the mood for a good Sci-Fi so I'd prefer something along those lines

IMO its a great scifi setting, with a LOT of random generation tables for planets and the like. drive.google.com/file/d/0BwveEGL3ahxJbkVCeDdlTXNyS28/view?usp=sharing

We could do it here on the forum, play by post style, and use an outside site to roll dice. Or we could use Skype and Roll20 if we want a more "sitting around the table" experience.

I don't use Skype. As much as I love technology, I limit what I use a lot. I've already got too many different user names and passwords to remember. The more accounts you have, the easier it is to for you info to get hacked because the hackers go for what's popular. I've only got just a tiny camera in my laptop. I don't know if it would be good enough. I might be willing to give it a try though. Here's a good app for D&D and any other D20 type game, play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dndtools.dungeonsanddragonstools&hl=en

I'd be cool with a post by post approach. I don't always have access to Internet connections stable enough for video chat, but I can post pretty reliably.

This sounds fun, but too much time commitment for me.
Whatever you end up doing, I hope there'll be some forum presence so I can track the adventures of our intrepid heroes.

My vote is for text based here on the forum. We could have a 24(?) hour cycle time, where the DM would give us X-Y things to do/discuss/decide and we take the time to write our responses and submit our rolls. If we do it similar to johndramey's Let's Play 4X, it would be great, as we could RP and have fun between cycles, and as long as we have our cycle decisions in on time, anything goes... We would need to post a measure of information about our characters, and any style/decision/preferences for decisions the player isn't present/in time for.

We could have a thread for OOC discussion and for IC actions. We could have an info thread for maps, character sheets and such, or fold it into the IC thread.
